Thuam Cin Khai is the youngest son of the late Mr. Kham Khua Khai and Ms. Khai Khua Cing, Thuam hails from Voklaak village near Siallum fortress in Chin State, Myanmar. He entered into wedlock with Mang Lam Nuam-Khai on May 29, 1997. Mr. Thuam and Mrs. Mang Nuam-Khai have been blessed with five daughters and one son: Rachael Cing, Grace Huai, Mary, Hannah Pau, Sarah Nuam Khai, and Joseph Thuam Khai.

Thuam earned degrees from Myanmar, Korea, the Philippines, and the United States.

Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies, Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary, Tedim, Myanmar. Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Services Administration, State University of New York Empire State University, Saratoga Springs, New York. Master of Arts in Theology, ACTS University, South Korea. Master of Divinity, Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary [[1]], Baguio City and Doctor of Education in Educational Administration and Supervision, Central Philippine University, Iloilo City, the Philippines. Thuam also earned Master of Science in Non-Profit and Association Management, University of Maryland Global Campus, Adelphi, Maryland, and He attended Summer School at Wycliffe Hall, University of Oxford, in August 2022 as part of his Doctor of Philosophy in the Integration of Religion and Society[[2]] Omega Graduate School, Dayton, Tennessee, USA.

Thuam's commitment to service is evident in his role as a patriot. Since November 2011, after he completed the Chaplain Basic Officer Leader Course and Chaplain Captain Career Course, he has served the United States as a Military Chaplain in the U.S. Army Reserve and Maryland Army National Guard, demonstrating his dedication and sense of duty.
