Symeon Waller was born in Scawthorpe, Doncaster in 1976. From the age of 25 he became heavily interested in local history. From the age of 30 he became actively involved in local organisations on a historical theme. He now owns the incredibly popular online history project entitled Doncaster History

He has worked on many projects and given web site advice and expertise to many Doncaster based societies free of charge. His fascination with the Duke's of Buccleuch has lead to him forging links with the present Duke Richard Scott with whom he has collaborated to document the link between the Dukedom and the town of Doncaster.

He is an executive member of the Doncaster Civic Trust, a Trustee of the Friends of the Grand Theatre, and Chair of Sprotbrough History Group. He is also a published author of a number of local interest titles including Doncaster from Tudor's to Stuarts, The Big Book of Doncaster History, and Doncaster in the Great War.
