My name is Michael Quinn. I live in Sparks, Maryland and go to high school at the Park School of Baltimore. I am very interested in history, particularly the Republic of Venice and its history, the Congo Free State, empires and imperialism, American manifest destiny, and especially the history of Japan. I am most interested in its history from the late Tokugawa shogunate onwards, and the idealologies behind Japanese expansion and the Pacific War. My other interests in history and otherwise can be seen in my many userboxes.

I discovered Wikipedia in early 2005 when I googled John Negroponte. I began to use it as my primary search engine when I read the article on the Oil-for-Food Programme and thought it so good that I showed it to my friend. Since that time we have both become Wikipedia fanatics. I have yet to make any major edits, and I am still learning the finer details of article editing. I do however, make grammatical corrections and stylistic changes.
