Confession edit

This is Eric Bryant, Director of Gnosis Arts Multimedia Communications LLC.

Due to conflicts of interest that have arisen between our firm and Wikipedia, we are ceasing our Wikipedia writing service.

On behalf of my firm, I offer a sincere apology for violating the COI guidelines of Wikipedia.

I have removed our main Wikipedia advertising page: http://morpheme.wikidot.com/wikipedia_writing_service

I have redirected our Wikipedia blog to a 404 page until we figure out how we're going to repurpose it: http://nj-professional-writing.blogspot.com

And I have removed the Wikipedia content from our main site, also with a 404: http://gnosisarts.com/home/Wikipedia_Writing

Additionally, you'll notice that I have called for an immediate ceasing of our Google AdWords ads for Wikipedia writing. (e.g., we advertised for phrases like "wikipedia writing" and "wikipedia experts"). These ads would always be triggered by these searches, which is how we procured 75% of our business. All these ads have been stopped.

This is no small confession for me, I want you to know. Wikipedia was by far our most profitable service, generating tens of thousands of dollars in revenue for us, each month. We've written lots of articles on here, for pay. I am not going to tell you which ones they are, but suffice it to say that the ones you "discovered" only make up make, maybe, 10% of all the ones we've published.

As a businessman, closing down this service, it hurts. Believe me. But I believe in putting your money where your mouth is. That's what separates the small fish from the big dogs.

I am not a man who minces words, or who blows smoke. Wikipedia was well within its rights to block our many attempts to continue our service. While there is no policy against paid editing, it dawned on me that there is a policy against COI editing, which is what we were doing. (I mean, of course I knew there was COI editing policies, but as Ricky Fits said in American Beauty : "Never underestimate the power of denial.")

In all likelihood I will create a new account (or simply use this one should you decide to let it stay, which something tells me you wont :) and become a real (i.e., acceptable) Wikipedia editor. I enjoy editing articles. Always did. Even from the very beginning. I haven't done much editing lately (save for the Solve Media article you'll see in my contribs; that was only uploaded, not written and coded, by me; so yes that makes this account technically a sock, I know, have at it ;), since building a business and hiring other editors, but I still very much enjoy it. I also enjoy the lively debates that happen here. It will be nice to participate in these debates without any monied interests or ulterior motives.

Just to set the record straight on the Geissler AfD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Randy_Geissler):

SMKovalinsky has not worked for Gnosis Arts in quite some time. She was a real, separate person with her own account. 1weezie23 was not technically a sock of SMKovalinsky. This was a different staff member who never worked with SMK. Just want to clear SMK's name, as she does not deserve the kind of mean accusations that were hurled at her.

DebbieBabb was an account of merely a former client of ours (Malizia Clinic) Malizia Clinic has not contracted any wiki work from us in quite some time.

BoogieTime is not a sock of anyone. That is a representative of Geissler Corporation, and I think Berean Hunter should rescind that accusation.

If anything, our business was the puppetmaster, not SMKovalinsky. I was the Puppetmaster. No one else deserves blame for this. Slight distinction, but important in my opinion.

Whatever my shortcomings, I've always been a man who says what he means and means what he says. And I've always been one to admit when I'm wrong, once I clearly see it. Would I have admitted this had we not had all this recent trouble? Probably not. But I don't think that's the point. I could continue to hire writers and create fake accounts and go through this rigamarolle ever so often. And I would - if I thought I was in the right. But I do not think that way now.

So, we give up. You win. Wikipedia 1 . Gnosis Arts 0. I'm not afraid or ashamed of losing. I'm an entrepreneur! I'm only afraid of not reaching my full potential. I'd rather go out like this, in a blaze of glory, than go out having done nothing, learned nothing, risked nothing. Not my style.
