My Page edit

About me edit

My name is Jeff Lee and I live in Creston, Canada. I've lived in British Columbia on and off for more than five decades and have an abiding interest in this province. I was a reporter and editor for nearly 40 years, principally with The Vancouver Sun; in earlier years I also worked for a number of British Columbia weekly newspapers in the Interior and the lower coast.

I long covered governments and politics; that's why my handle is Sunciviclee, the same as I used for my blog at The Vancouver Sun. In January, 2017 I retired from the newspaper and my wife and I moved to Creston to own and operate a commercial honey production company, Swan Valley Honey Ltd.

My interests at Wikipedia are varied; you will see me editing information on a wide variety of subjects, from historical biographies to government to politics to geography to science.

I am a beekeeper, and am interested in this very old craft and the changes it is undergoing. I am also a keen researcher and am interested in facts that add context to a subject.

I haven't launched any specific projects yet, although my first stand-alone page was on the results of Vancouver's 1999 municipal election. I note that many of the election pages for Vancouver need updating and context, and this is probably where I work for a while.

Projects I am working on edit

While many of these pages have already been created, and some of the work has been done, I am working on adding in more details, including the lists of candidates for all positions. Some pages also require contextual information.

Pages I need to create edit

British Columbia Honey Producers Association

Canadian Honey Council

Both of these are historic organizations representing the beekeeping and honey industry in Canada; in the case of the BCHPA this organization has been around for almost a century and has had a number of history books written about it. The CHC is more than 70 years old and authored the national standards for how honey is graded and marketed in compliance with Canadian regulations.
