Sponsorship

edit

With Rs 60 million in sponsorship money in their kitty, a buoyant World Cup Kabaddi Punjab Thursday announced the India team for the nine-country tourney.

The tournament has been named Parle's Cup WCKP tournament, as Parle-G is the main sponsor and has given Rs 10 million in sponsorship money, Sikander Singh Maluka, vice-chairman of WCKP told SportzPower.

Maluka said that Omex and Trident are the other two big sponsors and will chip in Rs 2.5 million each, followed by other smaller sponsors, “some giving five lakh (Rs 500,000), some 10 (Rs 1 million)”.

Maluka said that this is for the first time that a major kabaddi tournament had found sponsors, and they have raised Rs 30 million, and since the deal with the government of Punjab was to give as much as WCKP could raise themselves, the government will give another Rs 30 million, taking the total to Rs 60 million[5].
