Hey there. My name's Starbeam. I go by she or they. Born 1997. Eastern US timezone (UTC/GMT -5).

Not too big of an expert on what i like (as far as linguistics and culture), but i rarely add new info anyway. I just know enough to understand what I repost. I've had some level of serious linguistic knowledge for a few years now. I don't do things simply because an academy or other authority demands that i do, even if i entirely respect them. I have to know the exact reasoning before abiding by a rule. However, i don't like to force my way thru that kind of thing and am very willing to be contrite.

At this time i only know English. Seeing me on another language wiki is just me trying to see what one language calls the subject.

Interests edit

    • Orthography and transliteration

    • Onymatology/ names

General agenda on my end edit

Brevity/ bluntness is king, but i'm willing to listen to criticisms.

  • Edit pages to have more tables, templates and images. Especially tables. This is to make the page more readable.
    • I support the idea images work well alongside text, not just one or the other.
  • Delete redundancies, non-encyclopedian language, overly long writing, advertizement-like writing, bad transliterations, and bad translations.
    • I actively hate condescending teacher-like speech, the "author's we", and wish contractions were allowed.
  • Add sources to credit lists and reformat them for legibility.
