Helen Hart (née Smith, February 16, 1924 – November 4, 2001) was a American professional wrestling promoter, television personality, wife of Stu Hart and matriarch of the Hart wrestling family. She was the mother of several wrestlers, most notably Bret and Owen Hart among others.
The oldest daughter of olympic marathon runner Harry J. Smith and dancer Ellie Poulis she grew up in New York where she met amateur and professional wrestler Stu Hart after the Second World War, they married shortly after and had twelve children together. She moved with Stu to his home country of Canada where he oppened up a wrestling promotion which she helped him run, mainly by handeling the wrestlers payment and bookings.
In 1984 after she persuade her husband to sell the promotion, which by this point was known as Stampede Wrestling, she and he retired from promoting and spent most of the following years helping raise some of their granchildren as well as appearing for the World Wrestling Federation several times, often involved in storylines about her sons and son-in-laws who were signed to the company.
Early life
editHart's mother Ellie Poulis was an artist and dancer as a young woman, she used to dance with Arthur Murray when he was still going by his birthname.

editShe and Stu had twelve children together; Smith, Bruce, Keith, Wayne, Dean, Ellie, Georgia, Bret, Alison, Ross, Diana and Owen Hart.
Hart would often sign autographs together with her husband for fans in Calgary.
