Good Articles v Needs Improvement
edit- Odd to have an "in film" and "records" section for a game
- History section is not organized chronologically
- Lack of cohesiveness between sections
- Really only one user edited the article in the past
- Intro sets up an outline that is not followed in the page outline
- Section titles are too long and not formatted as a section title
- Very long lists misses the point of having a list in the first place
- Recent edits have been small, and usually copy edits
Choosing an Article
editComprehensive Assessment
editJazz Age
editBecause this page is about the Jazz Age in general, a user would probably be looking for general information about the Jazz Age, such as when in history it took place, key characteristics and key players in the movement. A person might search for the Jazz Age who read about it or heard about it in a conversation and wanted to know the context surrounding the time period, or someone might be directed to the page after searching for Jazz (there is a Jazz Age section in the Jazz main article that links to here - the purpose in that case would be to expand on what is included in that article). The users that would be able to contribute to this article would probably be historians or avid fans of Jazz. This article mainly needs improvements to its readability and organization. The biggest edits in the past have been additions, with a few major organizational edits. Compared to similar articles (like the Harlem Renaissance), it could use more headings and a clear outline. In addition, there is not a clear distinction between the "History" and "Background" section, and are redundant in some instances.
Summary To-Do List
editI think I need to make sure the article is structured with cohesive outline that enhances the information presented. Based on other articles I've seen, I think it needs more headings to separate the information in a way that makes it easy for users to skim to find information as well as read through the article to find out more information.

St. John's College, Johannesburg
editA user might be a prospective student looking for general information about the university, or a potential professor, or an employer looking to hire recent graduates. A user might be redirected to the page through other university pages or hear about the school in a conversation and want more context. The users that would be most helpful in contributing to the article would be former students or their friends or relatives, people who are familiar with the history of the school, or people who are involved with the university through outside contacts. Past edits have usually been small additions to the article. After looking at the Texas A&M University page, which is a featured article about a post-secondary educational institution much like the St. John's College page, uses more subheadings to divide the lengthy history session. It also separates the article into certain sections that may be applicable to this article: history, academics, student life, etc. The amount of information in the history section on this page definitely needs more attention and would benefit from clear subheadings.
Summary To-Do List
editI believe this article could use more organization in the history section, making the timeline more clear to follow. I also believe some of the best Wikipedia articles are very skimmable and easy to find the specific section of information you are looking for, and adding more subheadings would definitely help with that. Breaking up the text into shorter paragraphs would also help with readability of this article as well.
