700 years ago, sages(ಋಷಿಗಳು) worshipped and performed penance(ತಪಸ್ಸು,Meditation) to the goddess shakthi. 500 years later, the place where the sages(ಋಷಿಗಳು,) performed puja and penance holy Land taken responsibility by the present chowdeshwari temple dharmadarshi nagarathnamma husband kariyappa family.The Kariyappa family begins to grow crops on that holy land, But they don't know This place was holy land, the sages(ಋಷಿಗಳು) performed penance(ತಪಸ್ಸು,Meditation) in this place, one day kariyappa family coming back from thirupathi temple by walking, The jyothi will come from river and follow them on the way, ofter that jyothi comes to that holy land but kariyappa family did'nt understand, ofter some days small boy from kariyappa family saffering from unhealthy, they gaved all ayurveda treatment but it is not worked,When they asked Pandit, they told about the holy land and they told that jyothi is chowdeshwari devi,and also they told do puja for chowdeshwari devi in this holy land then your son get good health, kariyappa family performed puja for chowdeshwari devi in this holy land and finally son get good health,they started performing puja yearly one time in this holy land and kariyappa family continued but they not contructed any temple in that time, 22 years back kariyappa get married with nagarathnamma,ofter marriege nagarathnamma suffers so many problems in husband house, One day Chawdeshwari devi comes in Nagarathnama dream and asks him to perform puja every week,then Nagarathnamma performed puja every week to banyan tree in this holy land and devotees started to visit this holy land and puja performed to chowdeshwari devi,Devotees get health and wealth with blessings of Goddess Chawdeshwari, in 2009 nagarathnamma started to contruct the temple to chowdeshwari devi in this holy land and in 2010 chowdeshwari temple opened,ofter devotees increased to the chowdeshwari temple, in 2014 nagarathnamma planed to starts the again devolopment the temple in this holy land,in 2014 again work started, in 2015 nagarthnamma done prathistapana of mahakali temple, shivalinga pratisthapane in the middle of lake in this time, at this time Nagaratnamma become the dharmadikari of the vanadurga vajarahalli chowdeshwari temple, again nagarthnamma planed to temple devolopment project,in this project include (80*70 feet chowdeshwari devi temple,ganesha temple, hanuman temple, subramanya temple, navadurga temples,70 feet rajagopura,shiva saligrama temple,shiva temple in the middle of the lake,90*50 feet hall for annadasoha, seva kendra,stage for vadya darshna,trust meeting hall,pyramid for performing meditation,Goshala hall for temple cows) all works is in progress.
