  • Collison, D. J. (2003). Corporate propaganda: Its implications for accounting and accountability. Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal, 16(5), 853-886. Retrieved from https://www.proquest.com/scholarly-journals/corporate-propaganda-implications-accounting/docview/211233117/se-2

This is an article from Accounting, Auditing, and Accountability Journal that is peer reviewed so it should be a reliable source. It is an overview of how propaganda has been used by corporations for over 100 years. It should be helpful in refining and defining the beginning of the article.

  • BIVINS, T. A Golden Opportunity? Edward Bernays and the Dilemma of Ethics. American Journalism, [s. l.], v. 30, n. 4, p. 496–519, 2013. DOI 10.1080/08821127.2013.857981. This is a peer reviewed article that looks at the ethics of propaganda and Edward Bernays stance on it. I would like to redo the ethics section using this source.

  • MYERS, C. Reconsidering propaganda in U.S. public relations history: An analysis of propaganda in the popular press 1810–1918. Public Relations Review, [s. l.], v. 41, n. 4, p. 551–561, 2015. This is an article that is peer reviewed so it should be a reliable source. I want to use it to create a section that explores the shift from the word propaganda to the term "PR".

  • The SAGE Handbook of Propaganda, edited by Paul Baines, et al., SAGE Publications, Limited, 2019. ProQuest Ebook Central, https://ebookcentral.proquest.com/lib/fullerton/detail.action?docID=5987704.

This is a book I found on Ebscohost that I used to find the definition for the article.

Outline of proposed changes edit

  • Redo the introduction by giving definition and briefly discussing important people that helped define this term (Edward Bernays and Harold Lasswell)
  • Before it goes into components I would like to add a brief history of propaganda and how it turned into the term PR as coined by Ed Bernays
  • I feel like the Ethics section does not have the correct information and would like to replace it with the discussion of how ethical propaganda is by Edward Bernays
