Michel Parry was born in Brussels in 1947. His father, Glynn Parry, was Welsh, and Michel was raised by his grandparents in Maldon, England. He later attended boarding school. From a young age he had a fascination with horror and corresponded with writers, actors and directors associated with the genre, including the actor Christopher Lee with whom he later worked on a number of publications. He found success as an anthologist and writer, working in the genres of horror and fantasy. His books were published by Corgi, Mayflower, Panther, Gollancz, and others. Michel Parry later wrote screenplays and was the original story writer on the sci-fi horror film, Xtro. His feature film, [Uncanny], an anthology film presenting three encounters with dangerous felines, starring Peter Cushing, was released in 1978. Parry's single work of non-fiction was as a ghost writer recounting the experiences of two mercenaries fighting in Angola in the 70s in the book, Fire Power.
