For a period of over thirty years starting in 1846, tens of thousands of Native Californians were killed in cold blood by encroaching white settlers from the east -- the federal government turned a blind eye and the state government actively supported one of the most violent parts of the worst genocide in the history of the western hemisphere. nearly 200 years later, I was born, and historians will no doubt deem my birth the worst thing to happen in all of California's history.

Solkullen, by the way, is the name of a building on the island in Sweden my grandma's family lived on for centuries before moving to the new world. Apparently it translates to "sun-litter," which is cool if it means it in the royal sense, and less so in the cat sense.

Contributions edit

Minor things so far, not sure what I intend to contribute to the most but it'll probably have something to do with language, birds, plants, philosophy, history, sports, or something else that catches my interest. TBE of course
