SEVILLA FC WRAPS UP A SIGNING DEAL WITH FRANCÉS KONKO, WHO WILL HAVE A CONTRACT OF 60 MILLION Thursday, 19 June 2008

Abdoloulay Konko, one of Calcios´ assets this season, is now a Sevilla FC footballer. This potent right back will play in Nervión for the next five seasons, enjoying his 60 million euro rescission clause. The only thing left to do to make it official is for Konko's agent to turn in a few documents.

At 184 cm and 75 kilos, the 24 year old Konko is an authentic globe-trotter. At a very young age, he left Marsella, his birthplace, to go to Genoa to play in the developmental league of the club; nevertheless, it didn't take long for him to return to France to play for la Juve, where he developed into a professional player. In Delle Alpi, they didn't give him a chance to develop and in the summer of 2004, at 20 years old, he was traded to Crotone in the B series, where he played two extremely productive seasons, making him a steady starter. There, he jumped to the A series, becoming a member of Sienna in the 2006/2007 series.

In 2007, Genoa was interested in him and incorporated him onto their team. Under the coaching of Gian Gasperini, he's shown all of his skills, making himself into a sensational player this season in Italy.

Given that he can play the back position as well as the right midfielder position, he has developed a great physique that allows him be very powerful and aggressive on defence and very explosive on offence. One of his other skills is knowing how to take advantage of large spaces. A footballer with great stamina, great control and great air game, Konko has turned into one of the most desired players of the summer, making Sevilla FC sweat while negotiating with other European clubs.
