Sail Internet, Inc.[1] is a high-speed internet provider that uses fiber and next-generation wireless infrastructure to serve homes and businesses. Sail Internet was founded in 2015 by Kevin Fisher, PhD, Stanford University, former Engineering VP at 2Wire and Ikanos and George Ginis, PhD, also from Stanford and ASSIA.

Sail serves homes and businesses, connecting the unconnected and expanding and improving access for consumers frustrated by legacy internet service providers (ISPs). The company largely uses fixed wireless technology to create networks of users. Fixed wireless can deliver a signal that results in up to 300Mbps downloads and 200 Mbps uploads.

Sail further distinguishes themselves by requiring no contracts, having no data caps or overage charges for customer use, and committing their service to remain net neutral.

Sail sees their service as “crossing the digital divide” and delivering high-speed internet to communities that have been disenfranchised by larger internet service providers. In April 2020, Sail partnered with Gardner Family Health in Alviso, CA to install devices that would serve the Summerset Mobile Home Park with high-speed internet access.[2] The community previously had no internet access. In 2019, the company brought internet access to the Mobilodge Home Park in Milpitas, CA.[3]

In November 2020, Sail received equity investment from Newlight Partners LP[4], a private investment firm focused on building businesses with long-term growth potential in partnership with founders and exceptional management teams.

Sail Internet serves communities in the San Francisco bay area and greater San Diego area. This includes the cities of: Fremont, Milpitas, San Jose, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Palo Alto, Newark, Union City, Alviso, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, and Chula Vista.
