77th Army Band: The Pride of Fort Sill is a 40-piece band established and continuously serving at Fort Sill, Oklahoma since February 24, 1955. The band plays music to instill the will to fight and win by our soldiers, to foster the support of our citizens and promote our national interests at home and abroad.
History
editThe band was first form in 1907 at the 13th Band of the Coast Artillery at Fort Du Pont, Delaware. It became the Band Section of Headquarters Battery of the 16th Coast Artillery in 1924.
The band was transferred to the Hawaiian Islands before the start of World War II.
