Hi, how are you?

As you said before: the article must stays.

For how long the article will have that warning on the first page?

The article Cohen Modal Cluster Haplotype, indicates that both J1 and J2 Cohanim share the same Unique Event Polymorphism and share a common ancestor with 3.000 years a go.

J1 Kohanim have a standard signature (Cohem Modal Haplotype) of 6 marks. Now, J2 have only one-step mutation over one specif allele. With 3000 years, this one-step mutation is perfect understandable.

"It is interesting to estimate the correct time at which Cohen chromossomes were derived from a commom ancestral chromossome (coalescence time). Under 'stepwise mutations' the average squared difference (ASD) in allele size among all current chromossome and the ancestral haplotype, averaged over loci, has an expectation of T, where is the mutation rate and T the coalescence time. "

"The 95% confidence interval places the origin of priestly Y-Chromossomes, in J1 and J2, sometime during or shortly before the first Temple period in Jewish history (2,100-3,250).According to Jewish Tradition, following the Exodus from Egypt, the tribe of Levi, of which Moses was a member, were assigned special religious responsabilities, and males descendents of Aaron, his brother, were selected to serve as Priests (Cohanim)."

NOW: This article is 100% scientif facts from the toppest team in the world. (THIS GUYS DO NOT ACCEPT THIS, AND FOLLOW A UNKWON "MAN ALLEGATIONS" FROM A COMPLETY ONE UNCREDIBLE PERSON.

This info that I used for the article is: Origins of Old Testaments Priests - Nature , Volume 394 -9 de July 1998. Now, please note the (THIS SAME GUYS ALSO USE THE SAME REFERENCES, SAME BOOK AND SAME AUTHORS, BUT THEY SIMPLY DELETE INFO THAT THEY DONT LIKE, AND DONT WANT TO BEALIVE)

Please check this all. I want my article to stay or merge. Anyone of this options, but please dont let them delete this article. I accept to merge, if its okay, otherwise, leave the article. Hello Chris, first I just read your response to DGG's request for placing your findings/contentions in more laymen’s terms. Moreover, thank you very much for your input. Give me awhile to absorb. As I mentioned earlier, genetics is not my strong point. However, your writing style and talent for explanation is a talent I wish I had! Regarding the Afd tag, sorry to say, it will remain on the article, until a clear consensus of the community is obtained. At this point, you have several, extremely respected and knowledgeable editors and administrators involved in the articles discussion. I can honestly say that the article will be judged fairly. Please be patient! Typically, a decision to either Keep or Delete an article is made within 7 days. I hope this helps. Moreover, either way the decision goes, I hope this is not the last time, or the only article you edit. A talent like yours should not be wasted. Shoessss |  Chat  01:28, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi, how are you again?

Sorry for my emotions! My bad! I will hold the horses next time! The problem is that, I am tired, I am by myself on this situation against this "mafia team". They are manipulating this article for a long time. It is time to stop them! The readers of Wikepedia is reading untrue infos based on false allegations! In my opinion, this must stop, as soon is possible! I am very worry about the quality of this article, thats why I step foward to help justice and true informations.

Thanks for everything that you did and are still doing for the sake of the readers! Sometime I get myself very sad and stressfull with this guys.

Now, are you going to do something about it?

Thanks! And I appreciate your help on this! Please leave me a message on my talk page! --Chris Cohen / Journalist / President of Jornal Goyaz, founded in 1884, with 124 years on brazilian market. / President of the Brazilian Association of Cohanim. (talk) 23:14, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

I yanked the reference, not because of what I think of Kincaid and his organization, but because as an extreme partisan he cannot be considered a reliable source for information on his opponents. (I wouldn't consider a link to a Michael Moore column a reliable source for information on Limbaugh, for example.]] --Orange Mike | Talk 21:01, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Not a problem - I actually placed a note on JgZ page explaining my reasoning. Most likely the sentence does not even need a reference cites, but if you have one, my feeling has always been to use it. Hope this explains a little bit more of where I am coming from, rather than one sentence edit summaries that can be terser than expected. Thanks. ShoesssS Talk 21:05, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi there, thanks for not immediately flagging the article for deletion. Any advice you'd offer on improving/reorganizing it? I know the re-edit process must be pretty straightforward, but I'm rather new to Wikipedia; any tips you have would be appreciated. jgowdey

Copyvio or GFDL? edit

Regarding [1], please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Everholt (about a similar case). It seems that what you removed as a copyvio was available under the GFDL. Their main page says: "Content is available under GNU Free Documentation License.". Carcharoth (talk) 15:31, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Comment - Sorry to disagree, the wording is exactly from this cite [2]. Which the site states very specifically; "...For acknowledgements and references, see the Disclaimer & Bibliography page. Original content © copyright Mark Fisher 2005. All rights reserved. For conditions of reuse, see the Site FAQ." Thanks. Shoessss |  Chat  15:43, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
No apologies needed. I had been going by this, which stated that it came from Tolkien Gateway. I hadn't realised that it was also on Encyclopedia of Arda. Thanks for pointing that out. Carcharoth (talk) 16:18, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Cohen Modal Cluster Haplotype edit

Hello. I see the debate is closed now. I have read the article and the discussion and I found myself pretty much incompetent to give a wise suggestion so I rather said nothing. Looking at the result of afd, it seems reasonable to me. Sorry I was not much of a help, maybe next time. Greetings. --Tone 20:13, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Comment -Well hello Mr. Tone. First, sorry it took a day or two to get back to you. But real life keeps getting in the way! Thank you very much for looking into the article for me. Now, I do not feel so bad! If it was tad over your head, you can only imagine my predicament! However, all’s well that ends well. Both editors are unhappy with the finial decision, so I feel that the right one was made. Always believed if one individual comes out smiling after an opinion was voiced, it was probably the wrong outcome. In the mean time, you take care, and of course, you know, that you got off easy this time! The next time, I will get you involved at the very beginning and let you demonstrate your diplomatic skills and sit back in awe, and just take notes :-) . Shoessss |  Chat  04:12, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Indian Invasion Comedy edit

Regarding the above article: I was aware that the article had been copied and pasted from the official site. However, the site states that "Comedian biography and DVD description text may be used under the GNU Free Documentation License", which seems to indicate that CSD G12 doesn't apply – at least, when I tagged it under that criterion, deletion was refused for that reason (though it's interesting to note that the GFDL note only appeared after I tagged it).

Please understand that I am in no way sorry to see this article go, as I have no fondness for self-promotional articles. I'm just concerned that someone might go to Deletion review about this, and we'd end up having to open an AfD again. --Sturm 10:18, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

And in the few minute since I left this comment, it's been undeleted and the debate reopened. --Sturm 10:29, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

size edit

It isn't easy. Basically, I'm struggling to bring my support criteria more in line with others that require a building. I go through and count additions. Time consuming and laborious unless the candidate has been foresightful enough to have listed articles they have created and so forth. it's not as onerous a requirement as it sounds. 300 edits of 100 bytes each would do it. It just seems more concrete than saying FA or GA participation. I also see Wikignome activities as helpful. I've done some of that. You can read many articles and only make a tiny change for each. Sometimes you review articles that need no change. So it does help to understand what article building is about. If that's too stringent, I will cut it back. How do you measure article building? Do you see it as a concern? How can a better modify this or should I throw it out? Dlohcierekim 15:32, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks - I was looking for quick and easy way. But I guess it is like a lot of things in life, just have to roll-up your sleeves and get your hands dirty. Your comments do make me rethink my deletion of my trophy wall with Articles I created section. But hey, I’ll save that for when and if I ever get involved at the administration level. And thanks again. Shoessss |  Chat  15:42, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Drop Weapon edit

Hi Shoessss. Let me know if you want help cleaning up Drop_weapon. Cheers, Noah 07:23, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Comment - Hey Noah, I have actually been talking to a few other editors about expanding the scope of this subject. The term Drop weapon is extremely close to a similar phrase, called Throw Away. This term is used in a similar context to Drop weapon here stateside, to what many of the major police departments do in comparable circumstances. I should start the reworking of the current piece in the next week or two. And of course, any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks again. Shoessss |  Chat  03:16, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Ritual Exsanguination at the hands of the community edit

No. Actually, I was referring to to the death of a thousand cuts that I am currently undergoing. However, you did get me a little dizzy with Jouster  . Seriously, you have every right to strike and restrike if you wish; your opinion is just as important as anyone's and you should never feel any pressure to conform. Wikipedia os your community as it is mine and everyone else's; that's one of the things that makes it so great. -- Avi (talk) 03:41, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

LOL - I’m sorry I laugh so much, but I just get a kick out of the drama that does go on at Rfa’s. Some want it so bad, not to mention name's. However, what I came to realize, and hopefully the unsuccessful candidates will too, is that I, as a lowly editor, actually have more options than you, who are part of the establishment. Power to the masses :-). And if I get cared away from time to time, hey, I’m just an editor. Take care and just remember, at the 1,001 cut it doesn’t hurt anymore :-). Comment - Thanks PeruvianLlama I do appreciate the offer. Right now I am half-hoping it stays :-), I am only fighting the fight because the topic has really peaked my interest, and if it does stay, it will be available for other editors, with more brians than me, to improve upon. On the other hand, if it is deleted, I was looking to take the piece in a more derivative manner and start introducing the economical and social aspects of what banishment meant, in both the Biblical and social/economic sense of that time, and how it has influenced both modern religious and political viewpoints. After that wordy explanation, the short and sweet answer to your offer is thank you very much :-). Shoessss |  Chat  03:26, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi. How is it going? Could I ask you for a comment since you can be neutral here. I am having some hard times with User:Gooddays. He is massively tagging article with unref and cleanup templates, although a great part of the articles are in fact referenced and do not require cleanup, at least not an obvious one. Any attempts to clear this out have been met with an reaction that I consider a rude provocation (or with blanking user talk). Can you have a look? Thanks. --Tone 13:20, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

McGuire Air Force Base edit

Hello EaglesFanInTampa and let me begin by saying I agree with you concerning the McGuire Air Force Base and Current Events and of course your on-going edit war with 132.18.128.6 However, if you do not mind too much, I would like to invoke IAR and say; One, this information does no harm. Two, it does add to the article. Three; It is informative, and could honestly see this separating Wikipedia from the normal encyclopedia, in that we, versus paper print products, can bring up-to-date information, to the public. Hope you understand my reasoning not to revert 132.18.128.6 edits. Thanks. ShoesssS Talk 20:14, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey there. I understand your reasons behind letting it go, and I'm willing to just let some other editor deal with it and move on with my day. However, there's some things we need to realize w/this IP and what they're doing. From their talk page, it appears they have made some not-so-constructive edits in the past. I shouldn't assume that, especially since it's an IP, what happened before is the intent they want to do it with now, but it's something to consider.
Also, while I understand your argument about the flexibility of Wikipedia and how it's online so it can be up-to-date, if we allow "Upcoming Events" advertisements (it's nothing more than that, wouldn't you agree?) we'd have to allow every article that deals with a place to announce their parades, bake sales, and bingo nights, wouldn't we?
I agree with you that we shouldn't be a stickler on the rules (Lord knows I'm not), but there needs to be some boundaries, and I feel that allowing something like this could snowball in a direction we don't need to head. Like I said, I don't care anymore what happens on that page, but I wanted to let you know why I feel what I was doing was right. Thanks nonetheless for your input and have a fantastic day! EaglesFanInTampa 20:33, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Hey guy/gal. as I said in my opening remarks, I understand and agree on your points. To be honest, that is why I have not got involved, and just watched from the sidelines :-). I guess I just wanted to feel important today and see if we thought about everything. Take care and thank you for the well wishes. ShoesssS Talk 20:43, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Notability of International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators edit

A tag has been placed on International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Jeepday (talk) 03:13, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

How do you figure this is not a copy vio? It is copy and paste from a work that was not published to Wikipedia by the original author. All works are copyrighted unless either they fall into the public domain or their copyright is explicitly disclaimed. Jeepday (talk) 02:23, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Comment - In that the original Blog came in off of YouTube, as noted on the page. And Youtube is not copyrighted , hence my decision was no violation . However, I leave the final decision with someone with more experience. If you feel it was has a copyright violation, I am not going to argue. You already provide me wrong once :-). ShoesssS Talk 04:24, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I will delete it. Unless you can point to something that very specifically says there is no copyright, it is copyrighted. As a general rule stuff over 100 years old or from most US government sources is about the only thing in the public domain. Even if it from a another GFDL you have to reference the source to meet the requirements of GFDL. Jeepday (talk) 04:30, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Not a problem. As I mentioned above, I bow to experience. ShoesssS Talk 04:33, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Charles Bernard Desormes edit

I was looking through the list of uncategorized pages and came to this article, which was tagged by a bot as a likely copyright violation, and subsequently had the author add the website identified by the bot as the source of the article. You removed the copyright violation tag, and I was wondering why. I cannot actually see the source identified by the bot without subscribing to the website. Do you have such a subscription and can verify that the contents of our article are not a substantial copy, or is there some information I'm missing here?

I would be happy to copyedit and wikify the article, but I don't want to spend too much energy on an article likely to be deleted.-Mr Adequate (talk) 01:10, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Eighth Regiment of Connecticut Volunteers edit

I noticed you declined to create an article labeled Eighth Regiment of Connecticut Volunteers submitted by 69.183.158.175 to AFC.

Hi Shoessss, the instructions are on the top of the WP:AFC page. You are right about copy and paste into a new article with a suitable name, along with the edit summary doing the credit. Then you do wikimarkup, and add categories, interwikilinks if any and stub markers. On the talk page you also put the {{WPAFC}}</nowikki> template. If you know of a suitable project you can add it too, but usually I let others add it in unless I am a member of the project. Unfortunately most contributions do not have suitable references. Back in the original contribution page, change the decline into an accept - by changing <nowiki> the top template to {{afc top|accept}} and adding your acceptance notice - perhaps with a story how you liked it so much that you found the references. Let me know if you need a hand and I can fix it for you. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:56, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Hey Graeme Bartlett, I think I figured it out, (After blanking the whole AFC page the first time :-). Once again, thanks for all your help. I now have a new pet project. Take care. ShoesssS Talk 23:12, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
If you are keen there have been quite a few otherwise good contributions without sources in the past WP:AFC contributions. There is a javascript that you can also add to make the process simpler. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:52, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads-up. As I said, I found a new Pet Project, more than Happy to help out. Again, appreciate your help and advice. ShoesssS Talk 01:36, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
I have done some wikification, on dates and links. There are some redlinks that suggest it could be a spelling mistake, or that we need an article! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 01:56, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Now Red Links I am familiar with! That is not problem. I will start building stubs with areas that justify articles and start cleaning-up those pieces. How do you think I build my edit count :-). ShoesssS Talk 02:01, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Doing Gnome work is the way to get a big edit count. I must have got thousands from the AFC project. You may find it worth looking at WP:AFCP and signing up. There is a drive to try to make more good articles, or even a featured article. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:08, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: Informal Social Control edit

I would have absolutely no problem with that. I'll go over and overturn my rejection. Cheers! Redfarmer (talk) 17:57, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

I like it! I really do, it just shows how diverse peoples views are here and how different people interpret things differently. (You are welcome for the research) :D Tiptoety talk 21:34, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I avoid the South in general. I'm from the Northwest, so it's like another country for me :). But I am genuinely concerned about Bedford's conflict resolution skills (or lack thereof) and the whole Southern pride thing. VanTucky 21:39, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Comment – To both editors, the one thing I have always enjoyed about Wikipedia, is that all views are welcomed and respected, if a thought out rational is given, even in disagreement! Advocate edit

Hi Shoessss, wanted to respond to your neutral at EyeSerene's RFA. I'm curious, do you also oppose editors who have been through admin coaching? An admin coach will often tell an editor how to answer questions before an editor has a chance to respond. Your objection is noted, and I won't do it again, but I'm curious: Do you feel that I've done something different from admin coaching and that it should therefore be used to punish the candidate? --JayHenry (talk) 01:06, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

First, let me say Hello --JayHenry. Second, I think you will find, if you review my contributions and edit history, that the last thing I try to do is punish the son for the faults of the father. Or you would have not asked that first question. Second, as you pointed out; “…An admin coach will often tell an editor how to answer questions.” That is very different from an administrator coach answering the question. Thirdly, how am I punishing the caudate, I voiced a Neutral position. Unless terminology has changed, to me that means neither support or oppose. Finally, the comment was not so much directed at the candidate, but rather at both Nick and yourself. Which I thought was self-explanatory by the phrasing of the opinion: "...You are doing him/her no favors by your behavior". Hope this helps in why I expressed my opinion. Thanks. ShoesssS Talk 01:30, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Well, perhaps punishment was too strong a word. But you are declining to support an excellent candidate because of the behaviour of other people over whom the candidate has no control. I'm not actually a friend of EyeSerene (in fact, embarrassingly, my first contact with him will be when I go to his page and Bibliomanic's page to apologize for the damage I've done to the RFA. I have robbed the candidate of your support by my actions, and have taken the focus away from the candidate and made it of myself.)
But tell me, because I honestly don't see this at all: what is the difference with admin coaching? I actually don't see a difference, other than that I provided the answer on the RFA page, whereas an admin coach provides the answer on a different page. Why is the exact same action acceptable on one page and not another? --JayHenry (talk) 01:42, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Hey Guy, first let me say I am not quoting policy – rules – or law, I am only stating my opinion. I view the Rfa process as a way for the community, other than the nominators and people who have worked closely with the candidate, to get to know an individual by reviewing the candidates edit count – talk page – past contributions and most importantly THEIR answers to the questions. Even questions posed by an editor that has joined Wikipedia as recently as an hour ago. When you answer the question, how does that give me insight to the candidate’s position on that particular question or policy? It gives me an idea what you may think, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the process. You are not asking for the position, the candidate is and likewise, I am not looking at you for the position, rather the candidate. Hence, I want the candidate to answer. Does this mean, he cannot ask his coach or an other individual he leans upon for advice? Of course not! In fact, I want individuals in the administrator positions that do rely on gaining census. That way we have an open dissemination of information, rather than one individual’s opinion. Hope this explains my thoughts behind the Neutral opinion. It was not so much an opinion expressed against the candidate or for the candidate, but rather a finger pointed at you. Sorry about that. ShoesssS Talk 02:25, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Shoessss, I do understand perfectly well that you are pointing the finger at me instead of evaluating the candidate. That's exactly my concern. Would it not be more appropriate to discuss that with me instead of declining to support a candidate who doesn't even know me? --JayHenry (talk) 02:33, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
That is the great things about Wikipedia, opinions are just that, opinions! Consensus is what counts more than just adding up the yes or no opinions. In that consensus is derived by giving weight to an argument based on the merits or faults of any given reasoning, I doubt that my opinion will be considered in the outcome. However, as I said earlier: “…You are doing him/her no favors by your behavior.” Please take this as advice for future use rather than an admonishment, it is not meant that way. Regards. ShoesssS Talk 02:44, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Audicom (PC audio cards) edit

Hola:
In the last days I have a very productive dialog with the user JRod2, who initially proposed the deletion of this article. Originally I have the idea of having two different articles to avoid a single boring one. But now I think that a single, well redacted article and clean design will best fit the quality of wikipedia. He agreed with this idea. The article will basically cover the Audicom cards, the ECAM technology, and the Audicom software. If you have any suggestion, please let me know. Saludos SLedesma (talk) 03:57, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Comment - I have No problem with this. I believe I stated in my original opinion, though I do not see a need for an individual article on the product. I would support an article on the company and the technology, with the product mentioned in the article. Good luck to you. If you need any help, just drop me a quick note. Have a great day. New Project edit

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 05:57, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Be happy to help out. ShoesssS Talk 13:10, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Re:Hey edit

That's ok. I understand your thoughts and reasoning. I wouldn't have agreed to nominate him if I believed he wasn't ready, and the only thing I have a problem with now is that you're choosing an RFA that was nominated by me! :P Basically I wish your soapbox would've stopped farther down the line! :P Malinaccier (talk) 00:46, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Again I'm sorry it was between you and SynergeticMaggot and your name was easier to spell. Likewise, I do understand the need for additional administrators, but it seems that many times we throw a majority of the good candidates out with just a few of the bad because of an individual criteria’s, rather than looking at the primary goal of the project. And to invoke a personal agenda, I like to see someone with at least 6 months of experience before deciding what stays and what does not. Thanks for listening. ShoesssS Talk 01:09, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Arc Diversified edit

Thanks for your support on the ARC Diversified add. What is your general feeling about it's inclusion? It is still up for discussion it appears. (Pnpointer (talk) 14:39, 30 May 2008 (UTC))

Hey Pnpointer, you are very welcome. As I stated earlier, I think you did a great job on the piece. Both from its original conception up to and including how it stands at this moment! Regarding my personal opinion with regards to the Afd of the article. I believe enough experienced and trustworthy editors have expressed valid – creditable and reliable Keep arguments that this piece will be a strong Keep. However, just remember, the process is about gathering consensus, not votes. The closing administrator is not going OK we have 15 Keep votes and 14 Delete votes, therefore it is a Keep or vise versa. Rather the administrator looks to the reasons why an editor expressed a keep or delete opinion and weights the validity of that opinion. So always remember, when involved in these types of situations, give a reasoning why you expressed a Keep or Delete – Support or Oppose. It goes a lot further than the individual you responds with “…per nominator”. In the mean time – take care – great job – and hopefully this is not the last time I see you around here. Notability edit

I feel someone being notable for a wikipedia entry is that you are to be known to a wide, broad audience. An athletic director is a behind the scenes person who is not well known by those outside the college or those close to the athletic department for that matter. I've worked in athletic departments before so I know this to be a fact. I think proof of that is in those two articles nominated. Both of which barely reach a paragraph. As far as an argument, I don't take your opinions personal. Good discussion! --UWMSports (talk) 04:14, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Not a problem. As I expressed on the Afd page, you made a very valid argument with regards to Watchtower. Any time an individual presents a well thought out – reasonable and valid point, that stance should be addressed without stamping of the feet – pleas to a higher power (no pun intended) or sarcasm. No patience was required from me :-) just understanding your point and answering it. Take care and by the way, you are doing a great job here. ShoesssS Talk 17:52, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jessica Simpson (album) edit

The album was released way back in 1994, WP:CRYSTAL doesn't apply. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 23:17, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

  • The article says "The record company had financial problems and had to close down, still the Simpsons pressed the CD for their own money and sold it from the car." So technically, it was unreleased because the label went under before the album actually hit shelves. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 23:39, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Responce - I hear what your are saying! However, the way you presented the Afd was at best, a little confusing to me. As I stated in my response at the Afd: “…99.9% of the time I trust what the nominator has proposed for the reasoning in bringing the article to Afd is accurate, but still verify”. In your case, I trusted 100% and ignored that 0.1%. In that I assumed you portrayed all the relevant information. In that the album was not released, thereby something someone needed a Crystal Ball to know about, and expressed an opinion on your phrasing. Is that your fault, NO! I take full responsibility for my opinion and the reasoning behind my opinion. Do I feel I was dubbed to a certain degree, Yes. But again, that is my problem! Either way the article does not belong here at Wikipedia and this situation is water under the bridge and settled. However, be aware, that 0.1% is no longer in my vocabulary :-). Hello yet again. I regretfully inform you that the bot we were using to update the user status at Wikipedia:Highly Active Users, SoxBot V, was blocked for its constant updating. With this bot out of operation, a patch is in the works. Until that patch is reviewed and accepted by the developers, some options have been presented to use as workarounds: 1) Qui monobook (not available in Internet Explorer); 2) User:Hersfold/StatusTemplate; 3) Manually updating User:StatusBot/Status/USERNAME; or 4) Not worry about it and wait for the patch to go through, which hopefully won't take long. If you have another method, you can use that, too. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Useight (talk) 17:59, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Why cows moo edit

I've followed your suggestions and created a Lester Basil Sinclair stub, as the draft on your subpage was perfectly good enough for one. I made a couple of edits too, hope they'll help you in editing it further. Cheers, ¨--victor falk 13:45, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Why thank you. I pulled all the reasearch and should be able to get at least a few paragraphs out of it. Thanks for your help. ShoesssS Talk 15:25, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

I like it! edit

Count me in. I might not be able to do much before the weekend, but I'll start in at the very first chance I get. In fact, I'll see if I can get some press info from Horizon on the history of the individual brands. E-flite is another article on a Horizon brand which is a bit scrawny. In fact, someone redirected it to E-Flite. The proper name of the brand is with the lowercase F. Oh, well. Easy fix for an admin. That is a fast-growing brand which is adding new electric aircraft and accessories almost daily, including an important new helicopter model. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 00:48, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Admin? edit

Have you given much thought to running an RFA#2? I noticed here that you had a "n00b" RFA almost a year ago, but other than that, I've been generally impressed with your editing style and your contributions. What's stopping you? Closet skeletons that I'm not seeing? RFCs? Are you waiting for a nom? Decided adminship isn't right for you? If you want me to, I'll dig further into your contribs and formally offer to nominate you. What's your story? Let me know here though please, as my talkpage is ridiculously watched, and I'll watch your page. Cheers, Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 19:57, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Hey Keeper | 76. First, thank you for your compliments. To be honest , I have thought about it, over the last couple of weeks and have been on the fence. I was going to hold off until I had the time to devote to a Rfa. As you are aware, the questions have become just a tad long, in my opinion, but do believe that the candidate, if asked a question, should answer the question or give a response of why they feel that particular question poised should not be answered. The second reason is though I could use the tools, I do not need the tools. I know enough administrators that if I need something done, I can usually get it done, by them, in a couple of minutes. They are the two reasons I am waffling on at the moment :-).
However, if I do decide to run an Rfa, I am happy to say, no skeletons in the closet. No blocks – no warnings – No major conflicts (some passionate disagreements, but all ended amiability with all parties). However, please look through my history and see if I overlooked anything. I would appreciate your input. Concerning a nominator, again, thank you very much for the offer, but I was going to go self-nominated, even though I know I automatically go -1 :-). I feel this allows the candidate to be judged on their qualifications rather than the nominators. In the mean time, take care. ShoesssS Talk 21:15, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Excellent response. I took a peak through your contribs briefly before poking you with an RFA stick, and I'm confident that you'd pass whenever you decide to run. I appreciate your stance with self-nominating and respect it, and, barring any future major gaffaws on your part, you can expect to see me in your support section! Dann135 edit

I would like to personally thank you for defending my article on the Needle Through Thumb trick. I am glad you were kind enough to defend me.

Not a problem. However, why don't you take the next few days and start rewriting the piece in a more formal format, or as they say “encyclopedic” manner. This will persuade the negative opinions to switch sides. Good luck to you, and if you need any help, just drop me a note either through email or my talk page. ShoesssS Talk 02:46, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Edupunk Vandalism edit

Hello you commented about my edits to the edupunk article. Clearly this an internet meme as stated by many of the people who use the term including the person who coined the term. This is not a organised collection of ideas, almost everyone who talks about the subject has a different idea of what it is. Even the poster boy contradicts what edupunk is in the talk page of the article. This appears to be a group of educators using wikipedia to launch a new website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.174.34.87 (talk) 23:50, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for the note. I do understand what you are saying, and in fact agree to a certain point. However, I let my revert stand and will in fact address the issue as a neologisms in the next day or two. However, I did remove my note from your talk page with the explanation of “…Removed note in that there was a semantics difference of opinion.” OK? ShoesssS Talk 00:05, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Originally the article stated it was a meme and majority of people using this term agree that it is a meme, I dont understand why my edits are being vandalised, it appears there is a wikipedia admin asocciated with the group trying to create an edit war rather than improve the credability of wikipedia. Even in the talk page they admit to creating blog posts to use as references. Please use common sense and revert your changess. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.174.34.87 (talk) 01:14, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Hey guy/gal I did tag the article for a Afd and posted a notice to your talk page. Hope you don't mind but I quoted your summary of the piece, (I did put it in quotation marks :-)), as I could not have put it better. Regarding my changes, I noticed they were reverted and agree that your statement is fine. ShoesssS Talk 10:42, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
