Who am I
editI am an Australian editor/proofreader/web content manager who worked for the National Museum of Australia (NMA) on a Wikipedia writing project from mid-March to end June 2011. The project aimed to make use of NMA publications, research and web content, as well as non-NMA sources, to add to existing articles and create new articles where appropriate. I was a newcomer to Wikipedia for the purposes of this project.
I left the NMA at the end of June 2011 keen to continue contributing to Wikipedia.
December 2011 update
editI have returned to the National Museum of Australia to continue what I started earlier in 2011, and to help prepare a number of NMA images for donation to Wikimedia Commons.
July 2012 update
editFinished up at the National Museum of Australia at the end of June - the NMA's image donation to Wikimedia Commons will go ahead sometime later in the year. I will continue to do some occasional content development on behalf of the NMA for upload to Wikipedia e.g. working on extending the The Jerilderie Letter article.
My background
editI have worked as an editor and proofreader on and off for many years. In the mid 1990s I began writing and editing website content, including for the Australian Government Culture Portal. I continue to work in web content development and editing and proofreading for print publication. I have a Professional Editing and Proofreading Certificate (2008), and I completed a Certificate IV in Museum Practice in 2003.
