OKANDO VILLAGE

Okando is a village situated in the Northern part of Namibia ,in Omusati region ,Okalongo constituency.This village is some 15 Kilometers away From Oshikuku and 17 Kilometer away From Okalongo.The headman of Okando since 2000 till today (2012) is Mr Pendukeni S.

In this village the are two schools which are Okando primary school ( which was named after the village)from pre-primary to grade 7 and Emvula combine School ,from grade 8 to grade 10.There are two churches , which were both named after the village, these churches are Okando Elcin church and Okando Catholic church and there is also a clinic in this village.

This village is a home to around 40 families. People in this village are friendly to each others and they like working together as a family.There are different type of domestic animals , this is because there is a good grazing land and people care about their animals. The village surrounded by the following villages : Okathima Kangolo , Shamakuku, Elalangali and Enkundi.
