After attending the Coyotes training camp, Lessio returned to Oshawa to play his second OHL season with the Generals. Finishing the season with 34 goals, Lessio was the Generals second-leading scorer behind the former New York Rangers prospect, Christian Thomas. Lessio scored 3 playoff goals within the 6 game series against the Ice Dogs before the Generals were eliminated from the post-season. Lessio then signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Coyotes in September, 2012[7]. Following the signing of his Entry-Level contract, Lessio remained in Oshawa and finished the Generals season with 34 points in 35 games, unable to play in every regular season game due to an injury sustained from a skate blade during a game against the Plymouth Whalers.
