First Jefferson Unitarian Universalist Church is the oldest Unitarian Universalist church in the Fort Worth area, with a current membership of about 147. It was originally founded in 1948 as First Unitarian Church of Fort Worth. Another congregation, Jefferson Unitarian Church, was founded in 1966, but eventually the two churches merged in 1980, becoming known by its present name. It also produced several daughter congregations, such as Arlington Unitarian Universalist Church in 1964, the Westside Unitarian Universalist Church in 1995, and Pathways Church in 2004.
