Betelgeuse, otherwise known as Beetlejuice is the main character and anti-hero of Tim Burton's 1988 dark-fantasy comedy film Beetlejuice. Betelgeuse is depicted as being a michievious ghost who claims to be a Bioexorcist. He is summoned by Adam and Barbara Maitland when they say his name out loud three times, in an attempt to remove the Deetz family from their home. Betelgeuse becomes infatuated with the Deetz's teenage daughter, Lydia and attempts to marry her to lift his curse and re-enter the physical world. He is portrayed by Michael Keaton in the film and voiced by Stephen Ouimette in the animated series of the same name.
