Random Thought To Ponder (Updated Whenever I Feel Like It) edit

After not being on Wikipedia for a while, I'm pleased that That Guy is gone.

Introduction edit

Hello. I'm The Scumbag.

Scumbag? Isn't that an insult? edit

My real name is Chris, but my friends have called me Scumbag for the better part of 3 years. Now, I'm sure you're asking why I made my name Scumbag, or pissed off about how its offensive.

I'll try to explain it the best I can, without being too long and boring. Way back when, I would play a game with friends of mine. Eventually, I realized that I sucked at playing it, and knew fairly early on when I would lose. So, I'd concede. I didn't mean anything by it; I just hate to lose.

Of course, it pissed off a couple friends of mine. So they decided to call me Scumbag until I stopped conceding in games. At that point, yes, it was an offensive punishmenmt.

Time passes. I start getting a little bit better at the games, and I stop conceding so much. By that time, however, people had gotten used to calling me Scumbag. Hell, I had begun to introduce myself, within the context of my friends, as Scumbag. So, I decided that Scumbag was a fine nickname for me, and it's been that way ever since.

It's weird, I sometimes have to do a double-take when I see someone get offended by the nickname. For me, the term has done a metamorphosis from an disrespectful insult to a title of honor and dignity. If you'll forgive the bit of boasting, I'd like to quote a small conversation I overheard once:

(Setting: I had just did something nice for someone I didnt know, and some friends saw me do it)
Friend: "Good work, Scumbag!"
New Guy: "Wait... he did something good, and you call him a scumbag? That's the most -"
Friend: "Dude, that guy changed the {expletive}ing definintion of the word Scumbag."

Articles I Tend To Edit edit

I tend to edit computer game related articles, mainly because that's what I know most about. When it comes to reading Wikipedia (which I believe people need to do more of, perhaps a 2:1 ratio), I read just about anything I feel like. I guess you could say I browse Wikipedia the same way people use Urban Dictionary - they get the idea of something, punch it in, and read about it.

Sandboxen edit

These are sandboxes. INAE was done here so I could get the right HTML for something else, but I've kept it here cuz it's easy to edit this copy here. The rest? I just use 'em for whatever.
