Bare Naked Technologies Pty Ltd is an Australian technologies company founded in early 2009 known mostly for its EnergyMiser range of products which enable a variety of electrical appliances to reduce power consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

History

edit

After a climate change conference in Victoria in late 2008, Bare Naked Technologies was formed due to the rapid high demand for energy efficient solutions to current installations. Due to drastic climate events in Australia in recent years, climate change and carbon emissions have become a major focus point for both the Australian Government and the general public. Australia currently has the highest per capita greenhouse gas emissions. Bare Naked Technologies enables businesses to reduce their energy consumption on existing units such as vending machines, glass door drinks fridges and electrical appliances for modular offices.

EnergyMisers

edit

Bare Naked Technologies is known mostly for its EnergyMiser range which incorporates an energy-saving technology into a small, plug-and-play powerhouse. There are three versions of this product available depending on the application. The VendingMiser is designed for installation on cold drink vending machines. The powerhouse is equipped with a passive infrared sensor and thermostat which regulates power to the fridges compressor based on consumer demand or the temperature of the drinks. This results on an average 46% reduction in power consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. A similar variant, CoolerMiser is also available for glass door drinks fridges producing a similar reduction in power usage.

A third variant, PlugMiser in this technology can be applied to any electrical appliance with a maximum load of 1230 watts in a steady state. In this instance the powerhouse powers down the unit based on occupation and a timeout period which is selected by the user. In an office environment the PlugMiser saves approximately 750kgs of CO2 and 2050gms of NOx each year.
