Howdy Ya'll
I'm the oddity of oddities: a bright, inquisitive, open-minded non-racist, articulate, brash, and southern white conservative.
Yes, we do exist!
I am a straight-edge punk, though of the non-militant, non-vegan variety, and I am also a major fan of steampunk
I am currently an undergraduate at Texas Tech University, majoring in Chemical Engineering.
My current financial circumstances have put my studies on hiatus, but I plan to return to college and complete my degree as soon as times are better.
In the mean time, I have been focusing on my other major passion besides engineering, my art.
"The Greatest general is not the one who wins one thousand battles out of one thousand fought.

The greatest general is the one who wins one thousand battles without fighting."
-Sun Tzu The Art of War

Smith :"Why do you fight, Mr. Anderson, when you know that you will lose? Is it for freedom or truth?! Perhaps peace?! Could it be for love?! These are merely temporary constructs of a feeble human intellect trying desperately to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose, and all of them as artificial as the Matrix itself. Why, Mr. Anderson?! Why, why, why do you persist?!"

Neo :"Because I choose to." -Matrix: Revolutions

About my username
My username is a web handle that I have used for some time now (going on ten years now). If you run across a Scorpion451 in the rankings on an online game or in a forum, it might be me.(but don't assume it's me, because it might just be the 451st person to choose the name "scorpion" on that site. That goes double if it's a forum and you think I insulted you.)

One could say that my username is a reflection of my principals and personality. The name has two parts, both of which have a meaning for me. Scorpions are generally not agressive, but neither are they docile. Likewise, I do not seek conflict, but I will not passively back down from a challenge.

The 451 is purposefully chosen number, a nod toward the novel "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury. In my opinion, we are striding towards the world Ray Bradbury described; a world dominated by Political Correctness, where anything that could make someone "feel bad", is forbidden. This culminates in the outlawing of books, which are burned on sight. It is a world in which people seek escape from their problems in a world of flash, self-indulgence, and noise. We should not forget the lesson of Rome.

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Deletion

Yes, that is what you think it is- the article about deletion was deleted by the deletion project

On a related note, Do not fear the deletion project people, these grim reapers of wikipedia are a nessesary part of keeping wikipedia changing and alive. Cancer is a failure of the body to weed out bad cells. Likewise, the deletion project of wikipedia keeps our beloved wiki alive and healthy.

Est omnino difficile iudicare inclusionis meritum cuiusdam rei in encyclopædia cum ratio sciendi quid populi referat incerta sit, sed nihilominus aliquid encyclopædiam dedecet

It is generally difficult to judge the worthiness of a particular topic for inclusion in an encyclopedia considering that there is no certain way to know what interests people, but some topics nevertheless are not fit for an encyclopedia.

This motto reflects the desire of these Wikipedians to be reluctant, but not entirely unwilling, to remove articles from Wikipedia.
