Numbered Notes^[1] is an innovative music notation system which assigns a unique numerical value to every key in an octave. Each octave consists of 12 numbered keys and these keys are the same number in each octave. The purpose of Numbered Notes is to simplify the current, and rather confusing, complex musical system.

Current Music System

Currently, there are various different music notation systems that are used today. The Music Notation Project has a very useful gallery of Music Notation Systems Cite error: The <ref> tag has too many names (see the help page)., which can be used to understand the different ways in which music can be notated.
