I'm a relatively new Wikipedian from San Francisco, California. I've been using Wikipedia for years, and am pleased to have some knowledge to contribute.

My hobbies are the Japanese language, textiles, quilting, and patchwork. These tend to overlap somewhat, giving me an unusual area of expertise -- Japanese sewing.

I take Japanese classes locally, speak Japanese (and English, my native tongue) with my family, and watch Japanese TV. My favorite show is 脳内エステIQサプリ, a game show in which contestants solve riddles based on multiple readings of kanji characters. Like most Japanese game shows, it's a lot more exciting than it sounds!

My background is in computer science, and my career has been focused on the social and political opportunities that technology can present. I recently took a sabbatical from technology to learn the business side of things, and I'm now sure that technology is where I want to be.

So here I am.  :-)
