Before Sonia Ciercy came into power, the flag only had the black dot and white background. The black circle represents how the lower class people were stuck in a hole and went through a rough time. Black is dark and ominous colour and the black circle can be the pit of hell. The white background represents purity and it’s a soft angelic colour. The white represents the rich people who lived a life of freedom. It was a “heavenly” life, as we can say. After Sonia Ciercy came into power, equality came into place and that’s where the celtic symbol comes in. It’s placed right on top of the black circle, representing change. It’s like the chain that’s been locking the lower class away has been unsealed.
Etymology edit
The English word Miraii possibly derives from the Japanese name, 未来, which derives from the Japanese words Miraei meaning
future and Ashita meaning tomorrow. People of Mirai refer to themselves as Mirainians (みらいにあん), as to say “the people of Mirai” or “people of the future”.
Geography edit
Mirai is home to a variety of magnificent mountains, extensive wetlands, beautiful lakes, marshes, rivers, forests and many more. With expansive farmland, Mirai is also the largest importer of coal and liquefied gas, and the second largest importer of oil. Mirai is an active producer of a variety of products, consisting mainly of rice, dry-field crops, and dairy and livestock products; however iron ore, copper metals must be imported as must many other forest products.

In 2078, the large gap between the rich and poor had become a big issue in society. Ever since Dominique Genesis, a dictator came into power, only the wealthy have been given the advantage and peaceful life. Under Dominique's authoritarian view, strict laws have been applied that please mainly the rich minority of society, and hurt the lower/poor majority of society. Voting was only applicable for the higher sector, therefore the lower sector were never pleased with the outcomes as they had no voice to share their thoughts and opinions. Several protests were coming out from the lower/poor class demanding for equal rights to vote and equality between citizens.
On September 17th, 2080, Aiden Vycter (citizen from the lower/poor class) hacked into the government security system and sent them a message with the demand for change, and equal rights between the two sectors, and better living conditions. The video was sent and spread through social media virally. This fired up and caused uproar in the lower/poor sector; it gave the lower/poor sector energy and courage to speak up and fight for their rights. Great protests fired on the streets, fighting for their voice, with Aiden as their leader. A week later the government arrested and executed Aiden for his rise of rebellion in attempt to put fear and regret in the hearts of the rebellious and the poor sector. However this only fouled and angered the middle/poor class even more. Rebellions continued and leaders were continuously executed and imprisoned.
By 2084, rebellions and protest grew really heavy. After ten years of rebellion, Dominique Genesis still wouldn't give in to any of their demands. Multiple requests and resolutions have been sent in alone with continues protests to pressure the government to listen and give in. A group from the lower class that go by the name of "Utopianers" who have formed and grew throughout the revolution, and who believe that it is enough, and that the time for justice has come. On November 27, the group snuck into the government facility and shot Dominique in the head. A blood bath occurred within the establishment as the Utopianers struggled to overthrow the government system. It was recorded to have of the 30 guards murdered and 62 (of 100) of the Untopianers were killed.
After a weeklong of debates and discussions on the next step and what is to happen to the government; Sonia Ciecry, the leader of the Utopianers came out to the population to give her speech on the current events and precautions needed to take into consideration. Her speech; titled "Mirai, a future indeed" is known and quoted throughout history. She vowed equality for both classes and better living conditions. Her speech inspired the population for change. They agreed with her goals and promises. On January 13th 2085, Sonia was officially the government leader/president of Mirai. Slowly ever since, the government/population idelogies shifted to become a liberal-democratic society.
Government and Politics edit
A group of individuals named the “Utopioners” hold the political power in Mirai. The leader of the group would be the individual that governs the country. The rule of law applies to everyone, there is no exception. This is to ensure the spread of Justice, peace and equality between citizens. The people of Mirai would obtain the right to rule through elections. Every 5 years, citizens have the right to reelect the ruler or vote for a new one. Mirai has multiple political parties with different ideologies. Church and State are separate since the state is motivated by one specific religion. The population is made up of several different religions coexisting together, therefore one religion can’t possibly rule all. Our country consists of 52% Buddhism, 34% Shinto and 14% Christianity. Mirai has a free press, the press has no right to play around with information. All news reports must be written as they are, without leaving out information and playing with it. The population/society have the right to know exactly what is going on with their country without being brainwashed with false information. Basic human rights is very important in the country of Mirai. Each person has the right to express his/her point of view as long as it isn’t attacking another individual’s rights and beliefs. Each person is allowed to practice his/her religion and beliefs without forcing it open others.
The government plays an active role in the company’s day-to-day operations. There is no private businesses that play on their own, it is mostly all government controlled. The government promotes nationalization because that way, everyone can be treated equally. Another reason is that the government is trying to limit the gap between the rich. Therefore, it’s promoting lots of social programs. The government approach of the issue with taxation is high. The people get a taxed a large amount, to contribute to the state revenue. People with higher incomes would be taxed a bit more to maintain fairness and equality in society. Taxation on Gas is abnormally high, this is to encourage the use of less polluting means such as biking, electric busses or electric cars. The government banns all dangerous substances, (unless drug is medically prescribed). Therefore if anyone was to be caught, then they would have to face a prison sentence for a long time as well as participate in community service. Mirai’s security is very high and there is a no-tolerance policy. Permitting these substances would negatively affect the health of citizens, make unsafe surroundings (larger chance for drunk driving and car crashes) and keeping the mind unfocused. The country wants to assure a safe and healthy environment therefore there would be no tolerance upon being caught doing so.
