Rather-Be-Hunting GuyTM is a hunting comic character created by Limit Out Productions (owned by Limit Out LLC of Omaha, Nebraska) to capture the spirit of enthusiastic sportsmen everywhere who work too much and play too little. The character is given the "normal" name of Dale Dunnerway (fictitious) in comic books. Dale's slogan is "Workin' for the Man, Huntin' When I Can" and is featured in the company's items.

Hunting media commentary on Dale Dunnerway has come from a mixture of blogs and online magazines, including: The Hunter’s Wife, Suburban Bushwacker, Marian Deer Hunter, and The Hunting Life. Adventure Sports Outdoors (ASO) called the Rather-Be-Hunting GuyTM talking bobblehead “an instant classic among the camo and blaze- orange crowd.”

The Limit Out web site gives more information about Rather-Be-Hunting GuyTM. "Comic character Dale Dunnerway is just plain nuts about hunting and fishing. He’s gone a lot, spends too much money on outdoor gear and looks and smells like he’s been in the woods for weeks at a time. His dream is to move to a mountain state and become an outdoor guide if he could ever scrape up enough money to make the switch. His parents and co-workers want him to act like a grown up, get married, and learn to like the job he has. He’s made a few girlfriends mad over the years by being gone too much and borrowing their cash. A renaissance man he ain't. A lot of sportsmen relate to him because of his struggles."

Dale is obsessed with his sport, and the comic books emphasize this with situations such as:

  • Dale Dunnerway brings his dirty hunting dog into the office.
  • Dale brings venison to company picnics.
  • Dale practices duck calls in the company parking lot.
  • Dale’s lunch hour shopping list includes chigger medicine, camo toilet paper, fox pee and a pamphlet on canine digestive tract issues.
