The Treaty of Versailles, also know the peace treaty, was the document that ended World War I. Germany and the allied nations had agreed to stop fighting in November of 1918 while they were determining the terms of peace. In the June of 1919everyone but the United States signed the Treaty in Versailles, France officially putting an end to World War I. Since Germany didn't attend the conference discussing the articles most of them were implying that the war was Germany's fault. The Germans thought it was unfair but the allied forces threatened to go back to war. Germany lost a lot for, the document which people believe was the cause of World War II. [1] [2]
