Hello Sango. Firstly, again thankyou for your help on the Srikeit RfA - it has passed the century which is pleasing. Thanks for your support over the last few days. I am feeling better now and have started writing again. I made my first trip to New articles Australia for 53 days today (quite shocking isn't it), so it feels good to be back, and with the creation of Boy Charlton, David Theile and Malcolm Champion, the redlinks on Australian Olympic medalists in Swimming are now gone (after 7 months and 90+ articles). So hopefully I can get it ready for WP:FLC sometime. Also I'm wondering if you could look at Duong Trieu Vu which is up at AfD atm. I have translated it, but it is mostly from his website and contains some pseudo-unencyclopedic information about him being an Asian-American student and his high school achievements which you would be in a good position to evaluate for importance. List of bands from the United States edit

I notice that you were the admin that closed the AFD on the article. The deleting of the article also deleted 50 other articles, one from each state (for example List of bands from Wisconsin). Those articles did not have the AFD box added to them (at least the Wisconsin article did not). I am a member of WikiProject Wisconsin. I notice that there are 19 articles that now have a red link to List of bands from Wisconsin. Shouldn't the deletor clean up those links? Royalbroil 03:49, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

User:Freekee should be the one to talk to about the "List of Wisconsin bands" and "List of Wisconsin musicians" articles. I was planning on letting the articles pass without comment. I am more concerned about articles being deleted without an AfD tag being posted on the page. I know its difficult to tag around 100 articles, so I suggested investigating to see if a bot could do a task like that. Hello, and good morning. Anonymous Anonymous suggested I could ask you questions; I hope I've placed this in the proper place. My question is if I am allowed to delete information on my discussion page. I was in a rather heated debate on edits with another user, and that user placed warnings on my discussion page, I believe in an effort to stop me from making valid edits and to have me think they were warnings from an administrator (history showed they were not). Deletion Clarification Please edit

Hi Sango, An article on 'The Martians Band' was recently deleted due to comments regarding self promotion and 'not a real band' type stuff. I'd like to resubmit an article and would like some guidelines as I believe it was pretty fair as it stood.

1: They are a real band, and perform regularly at the Edinburgh Festival, one of the largest arts events in the world. The also recently won the 'Highland Quest' competition for a new musical, a competition that attracted over 140 entries and is being televised by Endemol, of 'Big Brother' fame (Not that we want to be connected with that type of programme!)

2: Fair enough, there was a certain amount of self-promotion, such as the link to the website within the text rather than a simple external link - entirely my own fault for being inexperienced with wikipedia content rules.

Ignore previous request for original text - google cache has done the job*

So back to my main point: was there anything in particular that led to deletion, other than comments that it wasn't a 'real band' and/or my own naive site link, and if so how do we correct this? We had a large number of hits via Wiki so folk are definately perusing the article.

Wiki, wikia, anf other questions edit

Hey there Sango123, how are, how's school been for you, i got my reports on wednesday last week. what did you get, if you got reports?

Now for the Questions:

1.Would it be copyright or stealing if you get info from another wiki and place the info on Wikipedia? eg: Hypothetical: I copy a small paragraph of info from Wookiepedia "the star wars wiki" and place it on the same article , but on wiki?

2. What is a "wikia"? Could you explain in plain english if you don't mind? And what are the differences?

3. You know how you get awards or "Barnstars", well is there a reward fro doing anything on wiki: eg: most images of a single user, most new articles made etc? Also how did it get the name Barnstar?

Okay, for the other details; I haven't thought about font. In fact, I didn't know you could have more than the one font on here. Maybe you could show me what you're allowed to put on here, as I know some fonts don't show on some computers. For colour, I like your user page's colour, but I'd like it a bit more orangey. So maybe a light orange, not too bright & intrusive. I'd also like just plain ol' square corners. For other details that I can think of; I'd like there to be a line between the heading of each section & its text (eg: "Heading=About Me". Line directly below. Then text.) If possible, we could make the heading background colour a different colour to the orange, but I'd like to see how it all looks before I choose. If you need to know, can all the text in each section be centred, so as all the text is in the centre, including the title? The only boxes I don't want the text to be centred in would the "Thought of the Day section, where I'd like the text & heading to be on the left side, & the Random Links of the day section, where I'd like the text to be shown on the right. This is also shown on my plans. For spaces between sections, I've used your page as an example. I'd like the space to be slightly less than the spaces on your page, if it's possible.

That's pretty much it. I'm sure if I've forgotten anything, we could always change it after the page is altered? If you could, would you be able to leave my exsisting page at the bottom of the new page so as I can work my current page into the new one? Thanks soo much again Sango! Looking great!! I've tidied up the page so it fits my plans a bit better, hope you don't mind... Okay, a few things, now that I'm looking at it on here, that I'd like changed.

1)The colour on second thought is actually too peachy for me (although it may be another colour as I am colour blind). Would you be able to swap this with an oranger colour, perhaps orange? I just want to see how it would look. Thanks.

2)Can I have the area behind the titles, up until the line below the title, a different colour? For example, your user page section "Babel", has a darker colour arounf the title. Would you be able to do that? If we go orange, then we could use the peachy colour as the colour behind the headings.

3)Final thing, cause you did such a wonderful job I don't have much to complain about, would you be able to change the colour of the headings from that lighter peachy, orangy (or some other) colour to normal black? Hello, I don't have a specific colour scheme in mind, although I do like shades of purple. In a general sense I mean, not necessarily for my page.

I do have a few things to keep in mind, and I hope you don't find them too restricting:

1. Author quote and Did you know?. I plan on changing these once in a while, and I'm thinking of moving the Author quote out of a userbox and into its own section.

2. Userboxes. I'd like to keep the userboxes on the main page if possible, or at the very least, the language-related ones and the Esperanza and WikiDefcon ones. I have no idea what happens category-wise if you move userboxes into a subpage.

3. Report vandalism. I want to keep this on the main page, because it makes it a lot faster to report vandalism to admins, rather than having to search for the WP:AIV page.

Thank you so very much for the new userpage! I love the lilac and lavender, and how it's not all boxy. I'm especially curious how the new sections (for example, Did you know?) react if I change the text.

Would it bother you if I added something along the lines of "This userpage was designed by Sango123." to my page? You really do deserve credit for it. Or you wish, you can add that yourself.

Feel free to change my status indicator to something else. I notice that there are quite a few versions out there.

Hi there, thanks for shrinking the size of my status indicator. Now I can actually read the "Registration for Wikimania 2006 is open" notice!

I tried to give you credit on my userpage, but it's not turning out the way I would have liked. I'm trying to give you attribution inside a narrow bar that runs along the top of the page, but I don't know how to get the alignment right. Could you please adjust this?
