Zilla Slab is a free to use, open source slab serif font commissioned by the Mozilla Foundation[1] as a part of their rebranding process from mid-2016 to 2017[2][3][4]. It was created in 2017 by Peter Biľak and Nikola Djurek[1], typeface designers for the Typotheque foundry. It's inspired by the Tesla Slab font[5][1], also originally designed by Typotheque. It's variant, Zilla Slab Highlight, features a unique ligature, where the character sequence "Mozilla" will turn into "Moz://a"[1]. It is used for the Mozilla logo as well as their other products and projects, such as MDN Web Docs.

Availability edit

Zilla Slab is available on GitHub[6], Google Fonts[7], and through Mozilla's CDN[8]. It's variant, Zilla Slab Highlight, is also sourced in the same GitHub repository, and available on Google Fonts as well[9].
