Matthew Joseph Waters (born August 12, 1967, in Hampton, Virginia) is a 2018 Libertarian Candidate for the United States Senate. Prior to running his own fundraising company, Matt served in three conservative marketing agencies, as Account Executive, Vice President of New Business Development and as Strategic Marketing Specialist. He has also served in two national Non-Profit organizations as Executive Director and as Vice President of Development. His portfolio includes work for conservative candidates, political action committees, ballot initiatives, c3 and c4 organizations. Issues include pro-life and pro-family organizations, senior citizens causes, Catholic and Christian ministries, as well as economic freedom and tax issues.

Matt graduated George Mason University and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). He lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with his wife and five homeschooled children.

According to the Students for Liberty website, his favorite characters of liberty are the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, George Mason, Sen. Sen. Barry Goldwater, and Rep. Ron Paul.
