Weston High School was created in 1890 and served Lewis County, WV until 1966 when it was consolidated with, Jane Lew High School and Walkersville High School creating Lewis County High School (Weston, West Virginia). The original Weston High School was located at 248 Court Street in Weston, West Virginia. In 1912 a new, larger Weston High School was constructed next door at 250 Court Street. Both buildings served Lewis County Schools until the 1990s. In 1960, another Weston High School was constructed at 358 Court Street. The 248 and 250 Court Street locations became Weston Junior High. Weston Junior High became, Robert L. Bland Middle School in 1990. In 1966 Weston High School absorbed Jane Lew and Walkersville High Schools and was renamed Lewis County High School. Lewis County High moved to a new location south of Weston in 1994 and Robert L. Bland Middle moved into the 358 Court Street location. The old buildings at 248 and 250 Court Street were demolished in the late 1990s and the land sold to CVS Pharmacy.
Colors and Mascot edit
Lewis County High School adopted its colors, blue & gray, and nickname, Minutemen, from Weston High School, the largest of the three schools that consolidated. Weston High School adopted the colors in the 1910s and the nickname in the 1920s. Jane Lew's school colors were red & black and the nickname was Redskins. Walkersville's school colors were blue & white and the nickname was Broncos.

Weston High School students operated an online newspaper named "The Blue and Grey."<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.thebluegrey.com/%7Ctitle=The Blue & Grey The high school yearbook was named the "Collicola." Lewis County High retained both of these names.
Athletics edit
WHS had its first football team in 1910. They played their games on the Asylum grounds until 1939. In 1939, the WPA moved Stone Coal Creek to create a stadium at 358 Court Street. Weston High was a founding member of the Big Ten Conference in 1930. Weston High won a state title in girls basketball in 1928 along with wrestling championships in 1937 and 1939.
