The Sigma SMP (sometimes referred to as SSMP) was an invite-only survival multiplayer (SMP) Minecraft server. Students from Hungary played their roles in the server. They tried to be as humble as possible and hide their real skills from the rest of the world. Participants and viewers were often tricked by these mysterious players because it was often confusing what they did. There were some cases, when nobody knew if it was scripted or not. However, it wouldn't be long before it all ended.

The Rise

edit

The Sigma SMP was created by 2 anonymous individuals from Hungary on September 6, 2024. In the beginning, their main objective was to have fun and enjoy the game. Their only rule was to NOT die.

After gathering some wood and iron, they quickly began to make progress. However, they didn't have much food left. After all, they successfully solved that problem. They built a nether portal at a Taiga village and quickly went through. The Nether Fortress was right there, so collecting blaze rods wasn't a problem. But they still needed ender pearls.

That's When things took a huge turn. One of them fell into a ravine in the Nether.

The Fall

edit

It was an SMP, so reviving after a death was allowed, but he had other stuff to do, so he didn't want to lose progress. He successfully convinced the server operator to make him an operator as well allowing him to change the game mode from survival to creative, essentially going from SMP to CMP (Creative Multiplayer).

Even though they had changed back to survival after that, it wasn't the same anymore. They lost motivation. They died about 28 times after that. By using the /locate command, they made their way to the Stronghold and the End.

Nobody knows if they were roleplaying or not, but it was clear to the audience that they couldn't defeat the Ender Dragon, even in Creative Mode. After a set of struggles, one of them entered the command /kill @e killing all the entities nearby (including the Dragon).

The End of The SMP

edit

After all, both participants mutually agreed to discontinue the server due to the server costs and the lack of viewers.

At 8:09 p.m. Central European Summer Time on September 15, 2024, the Sigma SMP was shut down forever.
