Normally I am a user of the German Wikipedia. Years ago I just wanted to READ about "African Queen" and found out there had to be WRITTEN a lot! So I started. Some time later I only wanted to help categorize some photos of human automates and maybe add them to the article. There was none!!! So I had to write it before I could add the photos...
After some years Wikipedia finally went international. That means, it was no longer necessary to create an account in EVERY Wikipedia you maybe only wanted to correct a typo or add a photo. Now you can go to every Wikipedia with your "own" user name. So I came here the same way like to the German. Some photos missing... even some text...
I live in Germany in the Ruhrgebiet, which used to be the main industrial and coal mining area in Germany. I am an addicted photographer. You find my photos on flickr as Uglix (my "touristical" photostream) and as Rosebud23.
BTW: Don't mistake the romantic sounding name! It comes from the classical film Citizen Kane. The film begins with the tycoon (Orson Welles) on his deathbed whispering 'rosebud'. And it takes the whole film to understand why.
