Sir Tasker Watkins VC

Welsh Artist and Sculptor based in Llantwit Major in the Vale of Glamorgan.


Most notable work is the 9ft bronze sculpture of Sir Tasker Watkins VC mounted on a 5ft granite marble plinth standing outside the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff

A life size sculpture of Capt.Richard (Dickie) Annand VC and Pt.Thomas Young VC both sculptures are invested in the vestibule of South Shields Town Hall.


Current Work In Progress edit

A 9 foot bronze statue of Fred Keenor, Captain of the 1927 Cardiff City team that beat Arsenal 1-0 to win the FA Cup.
The sculpture is scheduled for completion mid 2012 and will be installed outside the new Cardiff City Stadium in Leckwith Road, Cardiff


Biography edit

Roger Andrews was born in Porthcawl, Mid Glamorgan and was educated at Cardiff High School until leaving to pursue a career in Electrical Engineering with the British Steel Corporation.

Much of his professional life was spent in the Materials Handling industry until diverting to a career in property renovation and development in the early 80's.

Throughout his career he has exploited an innate ability as an artist and sculptor and it was no surprise to friends and family when in 1989 he gave way to this life long passion to pursue a career as a sculptor and model maker.
Since 1990 Roger has devoted his time to being a full time sculptor and has undertaken many commissions for public, private and commercial clients trading under the name of Andrews Studios
