Hi!

I am Robert Bicknell or Bic to many of my friends. I have worked in telecommunications, networks and IT for Telstra all my working life. Which is 51 years and and from which I have just retired. My qualifications are a Masters of Business in IT at Swinburne University of Technology.

For enjoyment I am an active member of Rostrum in Australia, the oldest communications and public speaking clubs in the world. I attend the Royal Society of Victoria for scientific and Technical lectures on a diverse range of subjects. A member of Australian Natives Association (ANA) fraternal organisation, Camberwell Music Society and The Friends of Box Cottage. On weekends I am also a frequent bushwalker with a group of friends in Victoria. We also travel to Tasmania and New Zealand for longer walks. I am also a member of Bushwalking Victoria and Bush Search and Rescue.

I have researched Sidney F. Wicks, the founder of Rostrum, to compile a simple biography, The AGH Rostrum Club at the Changi POW camp, and other interesting people and events that collectively have made Australia a richer and more diverse society.
