editWP UK Politics scope
editThe following articles have been tagged as being within the scope of UK politics but are not within the currently defined boundaries of the scope. These articles are to be discussed at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Politics of the United Kingdom once the auto-tagging operation is complete.
- Bournville
- British Forces Post Office - a government agency? Might be in our scope but the category is the only thing that suggests central government control.
- Capital of Wales - disambig page
- Cathays Park
- Cornish language - mentions campaigning for recognition by UK government and comparisons of funding between different minority languages. It is probably borderline on our scope. Advantages for inclusion are that politics editors are more likely to be able to access sources related to the government/politics aspects of the article. Disadvantages are that this may be pushing the boundaries of our scope a little too far. Where do we draw the line?
- Thomas Secker - Archbishop of Canterbury. Should we adopt all Lords Spiritual (bishops with seats in the House of Lords) or just ones that are known to have taken part in significant debates?
Mistags for consideration
edit- Dennis Nilsen - in Category:Civil servants in the Department of Employment & Category:Scottish civil servants but his job in the civil service seems only incidental to the article. Should civil servant categories be tightened up to only include people notable for being civil servants?
- Gerald of Wales - a pre-UK politician in Category:Welsh politicians. Should categories like these be tightened up into pre-UK/post-UK? Will it do more harm than good?
- Imperial War Museum - in Category:Department for Culture, Media and Sport and Category:Non-departmental public bodies of the United Kingdom government. Should a museum be in the category of a government department? Is there a better way to categorise it? Should "Non-departmental public bodies of the United Kingdom government" be in our scope or are there just a small number of exceptions?
- Royal Air Force Museum Cosford & Royal Air Force Museum London - in Category:Ministry of Defence (United Kingdom) and Category:Non-departmental public bodies of the United Kingdom government. Same questions as Imperial War Museum.
