Organic Rankine cycle systems

edit

Organic Rankine cycle systems have been successfully installed worldwide by a variety of suppliers of waste heat recovery systems.[1]

Successful installations

edit

KGRA is installing an 800kW organic Rankine cycle power generation system at the Weyerhaeuser Company’s lumber mill near Greenville, North Carolina.[3]The system, scheduled to come online in the summer of 2011, will recover waste heat from Weyerhaeuser’s biomass-based thermal drying system to generate 4.5 million kWh of CO2-free electricity per year.[4] KGRA’s system will displace the equivalent of more than 9 million pounds of carbon dioxide each year.
