Resume
editThose day jobs that I did not quit.
Years | Employer | Job Title | Location | Comments |
---|---|---|---|---|
1984- 1986 |
Valentine Financial | Credit Checker | Chatsworth, CA | Worked with my father doing credit reports on requests for loans on mobile homes. |
1986- 1987 |
Pacific Bell | Operator-TOPS | Sherman Oaks, CA | This office was eventually downsized and then closed. When I was there, I did participate in a trial called "MOST" where the Northern Telecom TOPS system was integrated with their very archaic directory assistance system. |
1987- 1988 |
Pacific Bell | Operator-TOPS | Culver City, CA | Worked for the entire time as #2 from the bottom in seniority list. |
1988- 1989 |
Pacific Bell | Operator-DA | Canoga Park, CA | I started in this office on 4-11-1988. Since it was directory assistance, I started "4-11" on 4-11 |
1989- 1990 |
Pacific Bell | Operator-DA | Van Nuys, CA | Went to this office for better hours. |
1990- 1992 |
Pacific Bell | Reports Associate | North Hollywood, CA | Centralized Repair Service Answering Bureau (CRSAB) also known as 611. |
1992- 1994 |
Pacific Bell | Service Representative | Van Nuys, CA | Worked along side the late Bryan W. Feedback. While working here, I was involved with the Sherman Oaks Regional Emergency Operations Center and was the first person to arrive at the center after the Northridge Earthquake. |
1994- 1995 |
Inter Active Cablesystesm | Customer Service Representative | Sherman Oaks, CA | This is a small SMATV provider for apartment complexes. This was my first taste of cable television and the CSG-CCS system. I was responsible for the recovery of over $5K worth of converters from a single client. |
1995 | Prime Cable | Customer Service Representative | Las Vegas, NV | I lived in Pahrump, NV during this time and commuted to Vegas every day having to deal with Nevada SR-160 which was being rebuilt. What a friggen waste. |
1995- 1998 |
USWEST Communications | Home Office Sales Consultant | Phoenix, AZ | I worked for many years at Pac Bell, I come over to USWEST hoping that a lot of their systems and procedures would be the same (such as entering my own orders in SORD). Well, surprise! Culture shock!!! I had fun in this office and I eventually was off phones as a specialist. |
1998- 1999 |
USWEST Communications Interprise America | Product Management Associate | Phoenix, AZ | Worked on the customer experience for digital subscriber line service. It was very broken at that time. |
1999- 2002 |
USWEST Communications later Qwest Communications | Team Support Manager | Phoenix, AZ | Helped open up the DSL customer service center, which was originally supposed to be an "incubation channel" while the sales channels were being trained on DSL. But due to the problems with DSL at the time, the office stayed open and was expanded. When I started the DSLC, we had 6 agents. When I left, we had over 120. The office eventually closed after residence DSL service migrated to MSN and more automated ordering processes were put in place. |
2002- 2006 |
Qwest Communications | Senior Process Analyst | Phoenix, AZ | Worked on various services including DSL, IDSL, Cable television and other new products, including some that have not launched yet (and I am not telling!) |
2006- 2007 |
US Airways | Reservations Agent, usairways.com Support | Tempe, AZ | Here we go down the roller coaster again. I am currently working graveyard shift at US Airways Internet Support Desk. It's a kick-back job. The pay is rotten but you get good flight benefits. |
2007- 2008 |
US Airways | Clerk, Company Store, Web Sales | Tempe, AZ | I am responsible for fulfilling incoming merchandise orders on the US Airways Company Store website. I am also responsible for updating the product information as well as taking photos of new merchandise and work on other projects. This is my first time working in a retail environment but the cool part is you get the ultimate perk, Non-Rev!!!! |
2008- 2010 |
Regional Public Transportation Authority | Customer Service | Phoenix, AZ | Handling phone calls for information and complaints from transit users. |

Trivia about Michelle
edit- Michelle did have a near death experience in 1996 while under anesthesia at a dentist.
- A couple of years after radio ID jingle company JAM Creative Productions moved from their old offices at 4631 Insurance Ln to 5454 Parkdale Dr. in Dallas, Michelle had their old phone number. She was still recieving calls for JAM! Of course, she was directing the calls to their new phone number.
- After their move to Parkdale Dr., Michelle drove from California to Dallas, TX to visit not only JAM Creative Productions but also Thompson Creative and TM Century. Michelle was going there to be in on the session where jingles for REC were being sung. Almost two decades later, she still uses those jingles.
- Michelle was very involved in public transportation issues in the San Fernando Valley as well as with Valley Metro here in Phoenix, AZ and specifically with services operating in Tempe, AZ. The concept of Valley Metro Lines 65 & 66 on Mill Avenue was introduced by Michelle.
