Ebin Rec George[1] is an Indian Christian Musician, Multi-instrumentalist, Multiple World Record holder for playing most number of musical instruments (27) consecutively in 1 hour[2], Christian Worship Leader and Preacher. He currently resides in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Early Life

He was born on February 2, 1992 in the Kingdom of Bahrain. His parents were active members of the church choir and handled musical instruments, he got the inborn talents in music. He started playing instruments at a early age of two. The first instrument that he played was the electronic pad drums. His first performance with the drums was at a church programme conducted by the CSI Parish, Bahrain at the age of three. After that he got a chance to assist Rev. Sajan. P Mathew, Former Director DSMC Studios by playing the pad drums at the VBS arranged by the Marthoma Parish, Bahrain. His first schooling was at the Asian School, Bahrain. That time he started playing the keyboard too. As his parents changed their job, he came to India at the age of six and joined Bishop Speechly Vidhyapeedh, Kottayam, Kerala. He performed in various stage programmes with keyboard, drums and got many prizes from the school and the church. At the age of six, he got an opportunity to take part in an interview by the Asianet Television Channel as a ‘Young Keyboard Performer’ followed by his performance. At the age of nine he joined his parents in UAE and continued his schooling at the Emirates National School, Sharjah. He started playing the guitar at the age of nine. While studying at the Emirates National School he got awards and certificates in instrumentals like lead guitar, Drums and keyboard etc.[3]

He got many opportunities to perform in the stage shows of the church. He got awards and certificates from Inter-School competitions, Arabia Daily Inter Emirates, Lulu Group, ICPF etc. After schooling, he joined Manipal University, Dubai Campus for the degree in Bio-technology. During the span of three years he got opportunities to learn more musical instruments and got chances to play with music bands. Since 2010 he is leading the ‘Praise Band’ in UAE and started practicing Violin, Piano, Bass Guitar, Arabic Drums, Recorder etc. In the year 2011 he started practicing the Soprano Saxophone. On 14 Jan 2012 he performed his first Soprano Sax recital in Sharjah.

World Record Event - Nothing Is Impossible

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE – Performance for the World Record[4][5]

Ebin’s performance for the world record was held on Feb 2, 2013 at the SWC Auditorium (Sharjah Worship Centre), Sharjah, UAE. [6]The title of the event was ‘Nothing Is Impossible’ which was taken from the bible verse Philippians 4:13 which says ‘I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthen me’. He proved his mettle by playing 27 instruments in an hour consecutively at a live musical concert. This musical extravaganza was witnessed by more than 2500 people along with the dignitaries, distinguished guests, leading business personalities, well wishers and friends. The event was inaugurated by Pastor Wilson Joseph, Chairman of Sharjah Worship Centre. The chief guest for the day Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Director of Dubai International Academic City, enthralled the audience by his inspiring message.[7] It was followed by the keynote address by Dr. Tiju Thomas, Consul – Economic Affairs, Indian Consulate Dubai. Dr. B. Ramjee, Ex. Director of Manipal University – Dubai Campus, Mrs. Uma Prasad, Student Counsellor, Manipal University – Dubai Campus, Mr. Abraham Mathew, Vice – Principal, Emirates National School, Sharjah, Mr. Steve Thompson, Director, Berach International Music, UK also gave their felicitations. Ebin played 27 instruments instead of 20, in 27 different genres made of various self-made tracks consisting of Latin, Pop, Rock, Funk, Oriental, African, Karnatic, Irish etc.[8]

Discography

In August 2013, He released his first Piano Instrumental Album titled ‘FORWARD’[9] which comprises of piano instrumentals of popular christian worship songs with its backing tracks. The album was released internationally by various music distributors and is available in iTunes, Amazon, Spotify etc. The album had 3 nominations from 2014 Rhythm of Gospel Awards, USA for International Artist Of The Year, Special Event CD Of The Year and Children /Young Adult Artist Of The Year.[10]

Personal Life

Ebin George is the elder son of Mr. George C.K, a Sharjah Based Entrepreneur and Mrs. Suja George, English Teacher in Our Own English High School, Sharjah, UAE. His younger brother Eswin George is in grade 11. He also plays several instruments by looking at his brother. He also owns the best artiste award from his school. Ebin spends his leisure time with musical instruments and computers. His hobbies include driving, composing music, designing etc. He currently works as a consultant for Information Technology and Media Production for various projects in the UAE. He completed his graduation in Biotechnology & Life Sciences from Manipal University, Dubai Campus and is a doing his post graduation in Renewable Energy Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Dubai Campus. Along with his Engineering studies, he is also completing his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Karanataka State University, India.
