editI am an associate professor of mathematics at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA, USA. My research specialty is applications of mathematics to music. I graduated from Haverford College in 1991 with a B.A. in ancient Greek at Bryn Mawr College, and received a Ph.D. in mathematics from the Pennsylvania State University in 1999. I play English concertina, piano, and tabla in the folk trio Simple Gifts and was a founding member of the band Broadside Electric.
