I've made the hard decision to end my involvement with this project. After spending a long time thinking about it, I've concluded that my involvement with this encyclopedia is problematic for a number of reasons. First of all, it has been interfering with my personal life and is a waste of time. I've wasted countless hours on Wikipedia when I could have been doing something much more productive. Now I pay the price for it. Second, my five years on the project (I edited as an IP almost three years before creating this account; I estimate that I made about 1,500 edits with it) have been rough. I've made many constructive contributions in areas including vandalism reversion, article assessment, recent changes patrolling, new page reviewing, and article improvement (from adding citations, infoboxes, copyeding, etc. to major expansions). I also spent a fair amount of time in the areas of categorisation, redirection, and requested moves. I contributed much in areas of my interest, which tended to be of science, technology, world history, culture, religion, and current events. Do not misinterpret what I said; my time on Wikipedia has not been bad- I have had many good times. I thank all of you who helped make my experience on Wikipedia a valuable learning experience. But I've had many other issues too. There were many contribution goals I had set that I never got to accomplish and never will. I could go into great detail about all of the bad experiences I have had, but I will sum it up with this: my belief of the fate of this encyclopedia. I do not believe it will last. It is problematic in many ways. Wikipedia's ambition to "compile the sum of all human knowledge" will never happen. Allowing "anyone to edit" is the biggest issue. As a result, we have to have countless policies which must be followed. But even those policies do not stop all of the complicated disagreements between users. That, in a nutshell, is why I believe Wikipedia is on the decline and will fall in the next few years or so.

Best wishes and good luck to you all, Qxukhgiels (talk) 22:04, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
