Hi, my name is Puddleglum Marshwiggle, which is not my real name as he is a fictional character from the Narnian novel The Silver Chair by CS Lewis. It is the name I use on the internet to maintain my anonymity.

Puddleglum is the The Old Grey Wolf Ltd Co, a musician and composer who writes and produces original music under that name, describing himself as a "One man band, old and ugly".

Clinging to the myth that artists should be sincere in their art and noble in their motivation, The Old Grey Wolf Ltd Co was born out of a sense of indignation at music industry guru's and gatekeepers who judged, critised and generally patronised music loving people who spent their hard earned money making them rich, under the guise of supporting the artist. It often seemed to me that the more innovative and original artists were by-passed for the safer options of selling pretty people as stars to a public that wanted pretty people as stars. Not much has changed but this facade is crumbling, and people are not as willing to be fed 'sweet sugery sex appeal' or 'faked rebellions' as they used to be. Maybe this is economic, maybe political, maybe it is just a hunger for something tastier.

An enthusiastic amateur who believes that music, and certainly MP3's, should be free to the listener and given away by artists for people to enjoy. Music is not a business but an art form usually neglected by artists in favour of commercial success. In this day and age with so much music available the artist should be grateful that people take their time to listen to music produced by amateurs, it is not inferior to music produced by professionals and record companies and very often it far more individual and artistic than commercial releases. Success can be measured in a variety of ways, not always by financial gain, and sometime it is how much people enjoy the music that gives the greatest satisfaction.
