Below are some of my own Poems:

VANITY
Stanza I

I want to be ‘this’

I want to be ‘that’

I know am thin

But I’d rather be fat

Maybe if I was tall

Pretty girls would fall

Oh, vanity in the way of death

The quest for eternity.

Stanza II

It hurts my fragile nerve

To see that I cannot preserve

This beautiful frame of mine Which will one day Be far from mine Oh, vanity in the way of death The quest for eternity.

Is it not funny, nay, strange? Everything around us Will one day change? From nothing to nothingness Dust to dust Rotting away Under the dingy earth crust Oh, vanity in the way of death The quest for eternity.

I wonder everyday Why some won’t make hay While the sun shines Then during the dark Hunt after fast-tracks Oh, vanity for everything.

We all aim to have more Even after owning some Few think of learning some more Sometimes it would seem Our world is under a curse And our only way out is knowing GOD So the curse is reversed Oh, vanity in the way of death The quest for eternity.

We people of the world All lust after elements of life But alas! Even I am involved And you too, yes! With our undeniable lot For we crave to be All that we should be Oh, vanity in the way of death The quest for eternity.

REFLECTIONS

Always two steps in line At every point in time Even at sleep The mind is adrift All of a sudden It now seems Life is a continuous battle Between good and evil No vanquished no surrender Right from every waking hour Till death put asunder Still alive though But so busy, barely breathing Praying to GOD But hardly believing Hoping for the best Expecting the worst Oddly funny Is that hyped-up feeling There is before a bad news is received A never-ending battle of sorts That is what life is...

THE MONSTER

It is real Yet, this is no news It is a potential killer No, this is not a thriller. AIDS is not an impediment To that carnal enjoyment It is a health complication Avoidable with simple strict-restriction. AIDS is not an end It could become a means to an end So dont go getting protected Under the pretext of not getting infected Stay protected in abstinence A wise person has continence Carnal knowledge is worth the wait Acquire it not in haste Ignore the protection-rubber Embrace the protection moral There is time for everything Indeed without it there is nothing. Squander not scarce leisure For few minutes of risky pleasure With the dire threats of life-long misery. Think brothers Reason sisters Spread the message Curb the virus.
