Irate

Many, many thanks. Today has not been my favourite day on Wikipedia by a long way - I'm glad I can lay it to rest for a while. Aquilina 22:12, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Friedrich Nietzsche

I explicitly wrote I was "rvv by Petrejo" who is a vandal. Please revert your mislead revert of my edits which were in good order.Non-vandal 00:54, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

No problem. I'm glad someone looks out for it. While we discuss this, could you find a way to block Petrejo who's only out to vandalize Friedrich Nietzsche? That would be of great service. Anyway, happy editing and the like.Non-vandal 00:56, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

VP mod needed

Hi, I am Eagle talk, I am a fellow moderator on VP. Currently the program is not recognizing my user name as a moderator. As such the program does not always recognize some of the changes I make to the VP official welcom page. (you know what I am talking about). This problem has been documented on User talk:AmiDaniel/VP/Bugs#Moderator update is not working. I request a "Null" edit to that page, The reason is a user I added is having problems logging in.

To do a "Null" edit, just make a minute change to the page and save. Then it will accept all previous changes made to it. (which are my additions) ThanksEagle talk 20:45, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
P.S. this message is going out to all moderators on at this time of day.

Thank you, I just contacted the user, I will know shortly:-)Eagle talk 20:58, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

When I know, you will be the second to know, after the user of course:-)
Third, you are forgeting yourself. Prodego talk 20:59, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
  • chuckles(not spelled right)
I am probably going to have to ask you for another null edit. Initial response is negetive. (the problem still exists).Eagle talk 21:05, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Oh, and if you wnat to leave me a message, please do so on my page, I watch very few pages... I may be adding yours soon, but I hope you understand. (I help every new user needing help with VP) If I watched all of thier pages, I would not swamped in messages:-)Eagle talk 21:11, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

No, the first charecter is %28, the html equivalent to "(". I am going to request a new change soon. But I am going to wait for the user. I have an idea on how to fix this. (I understand programming)... part of the reason I am a VP mod to start with.Eagle talk 21:13, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Your idea was my idea... try on the main list changing the %28 and %29 to "(" and ")". The user has already tried that:-)Eagle talk 21:16, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

This is the kind of debugging I do all of the time:-)Eagle talk 21:16, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
The user appears to be in DON'T DO ANYTHING!!!, thanksEagle talk 21:20, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Are you my evil twin?? that was what I was thinking as well:-), or it could be IE7:-)Eagle talk 21:25, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

What browser do you use to edit Wikipedia? Prodego talk 21:27, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
I normally use Firefox but I notice that VandalProof uses IE. Is this significant with relation to cookies?  (aeropagitica)  (talk)  21:30, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

LOL, you edit conflicted with me!!! I responded:-)Eagle talk 21:30, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

I have set the cookies option to 'accept all cookies' (Tools > Internet Options > Privacy). I'll let you know if I have any more problems. Many thanks for all of your assistance with this problem! Equal and all thanks to Prodego for your efforts with my problem too! Regards,  (aeropagitica)  (talk)  21:39, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

OOPS I FORGOT

Sorry about not mentioning you, I went in and wasted about 150 words apologizing:-(. Agian sorry about that, its just that I have been working on correcting so many bugs and user problems that they just all run togather. That particular one I was working on for an hour before I called you in. I had already suggested the "()" %28%29 solution, reverted his name change on the list as it was ineffective, and would not have helped. Explained that %28%29 is equal to (). You and I editconflicted on the firefox thing, (I just let yours stand, else there would have been two requests for the same info)... Oh, I felt like AmiDaniel, who I am constantly editconflicting with.

Just to note me and you editconflicted twice in 20 mins:-)
Thanks for the "null" edit... I can't wait untill the new version, AmiDaniel fixed the program so that it recognizes me all of the time, not just half the time like right now... it is weird.

Sorry for not mentioning you, The comment was meant as a quick note to amidaniel to NOT freak out over something for once:-)Eagle talk 02:34, 13 May 2006 (UTC).

AWB

Prodeogo could you add me to the AWB list. I have just over 500 edits now. Thanks FrankWilliams 08:50, 13 May 2006 (UTC) Thanks FrankWilliams 15:29, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

AWB

Is there a reason why I wasn't approved for the AWB? I really do just want it to work faster... thanks in advance! Crazynas 22:23, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Images

Wait a second! Half of the images he has on his user page are just on his user page and are not posted anyplace else but his user page (not linked to an article or anything). That alone is against fair use policy. Not only does it violate the fair use copyright by being on his user page, but it doesn't even describe what the subject of the image is on an article. Doesn't fair use describe it as it's only fair use if it's describing what the image is about on an article or something along those lines. Curiously, DGX 02:28, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Thats what I thought. I will assume good faith and not carry on. Thanks for clarifying that for me. DGX 02:33, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

^demon help

I believe that you were on the right track, though I refined your instructions. On the wiki, he needs to log on as normal. For VP, he needs to log on with the proper code.Eagle talk 17:20, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

I am going to ask him to do one more thing, if my first idea fails, else we will just need to wait untill the next version.Eagle talk
Groans:-) gah!!! that name is evil, (not the person), I did that for every instance of his name, I realized my mistake when I hit preview, and went back and removed the offending 'a' from every instance (so I thought). Thank you for your sharp eyes. Next time I am just going to do a regex to fix many errors:-(.
Thank you very much.Eagle talk 17:26, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

WP:SAND

If the developers have to be involved, it's not worth it. Okay, I've withdrawn and voted speedy keep. I'd do a non-admin close and speedy keep so we can get that mfd1 off the sandbox, but I think it might be inappropriate. Can you do it? Thanks. Mangojuicetalk 18:28, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
