Trailer (Genetics) edit

Trailer is a portion of a gene situated downstream of the coding region. The stop codon in a gene to be transcribed is immediately followed by the trailer sequence. The trailer sequence is trancribed but not translated. The trailer contains sequences that prepare the RNA polymerase for release from the template strand. The terminator sequence is located just beyond the trailer sequence. [1]
