Colony hybridization is the process analyzing a certain genetic sequence of DNA, RNA, Proteins, Antibodies, Enzymes,[1] or bacteria colonies.[2] Hybridization has high specificity which allows it to find a specific sequence, even when it is surrounded by similar sequences.[1]

Process

edit
  1. A cell culture is grown until it has a minimum of 50 colonies.[3]
  2. A sample of the culture is transferred onto nylon[3] or nitrocellulose[1] sheet.
