Not terribly sure what I'm supposed to put here, so I'll just let my fingers take care of it on thier own. I'm nothing special really, just your typical half-educated (ran out of money) American. I don't and never have, however, accept(ed) that you have to stop learning just because you leave college, and those who do, are the worst kind of failures; they are people who fail to try, who fail to grow.

Um...there aren't really any very interesting things about me. I'm from Central Iowa, and as a child (5 years old maybe?) I was on a locally-produced children's television show, the Duane Eliott and Floppy show. If I'm remembering correctly, I may have been the first black child on the show, but as an acquaintance recently stated in a radio interview about Barack Obama's campaigning efforts, "No African-American wants to be 'the first Black person to do x, we just want acknowledgement for having done a superior job.'" (I'm rather certain that I've badly mangled that quote, but the gist is correct.)

No real hobbies, no real collections, but I do have several sets of chopsticks, which I can't use effectively; several porcelain chopstick rests of various shapes, which were on sale; and at least seven dictionaries, three of which I have (for some ungodly reason) read from cover to cover. Not much variation there.

The only other information about me that I can think of right now, is just that I cast about from place to place on the web on a daily basis, looking for things that interest me, wether or not they might prove useful in the future. Honestly. Ask me about duck teeth or whether or not Peeps dissolve, or what it takes to set a Twinkie on fire... --Portia Wasabi 18:00, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
